Long shadows Photo

Photographer’s Note

On the frozen ground, we are walking in the fresh air trying to get some sunrays, well wrapped up in our jackets. Too cold to stop on a bench. The long shadows of the trees change the landscape.

Sur le sol gelé, on marche le nez en l’air pour capter les rayons de soleil, bien emmitouflé dans sa doudoune. Il fait trop froid pour s’arrêter sur un banc. Les longues ombres des arbres transforment le paysage.

Fantastic, very atmospheric and poetic photo, the lonely lady is perfectly positioned in this wonderful frame! Usually the lonely presence gives a melancholic mood to a photo, but here posture seems cheerful and optimistic to me, she seems to enjoy the rays of sun passing through the trees! Excellent light managment, perfect choice of b&w! Congratulations!

With a splendid, black and white photo, with somehow romantic and a little bit solitary touch, you say goodbye in 2008 and you welcome the coming of the new one.
I like very much the long shadows which the late afternoon light gave to the composition. They make it even more emotive.

Hello Catherine, superb black and white, amazing misty atmosphere and great depth. The curved road leads the eye in the shot in a great way and the human precense add to the composition. Thanks for sharing.

la beauté dans la simplicité d'un parc...j'aime beaucoup ces scènes de vie quotidienne, ici magnifiée par la lumière splendide qui vibre et crée des ombres bienvenues. Tu as bien fait de la présenter en n/b qui met l'accent sur les formes. La présence de la passante lui donne la vie et le point d'accroche pour le regard.
