Photographer’s Note

Leuven is the most important city of the Flemish Brabant. It is located about 30 km of Brussels. Leuven is home to an old university, founded in the year 1425.

Here a house in one of the two beguinage of Leuven: the "Groot Begijnhof".

The beguinages were constructed in the West North of Europa (Flanders, Nederland).

The Beguines were women who dedicaded their lives to god withart retiring from the world (13th century).

The beguinages are situated in the cities: Amsterdam, Bruges, Leuven, Lier, Diest, Dixmude, ...
More flemish beguinages are inscrided on the list " World heritage Unesco" .

Torn&worn brick buildings and bicycles, the perfect summary of Belgian towns and vilages. Well, perhaps a perfectly grey sky was missing to make the picture 100% original :).

Bonjour, Roger. Une jolie façade de briques anciennes dont le rouge est vraiment très beau. Les fenêtres et la porte ressortent bien sur les briques. L'élément qui apporte un plus, c'est le vélo qui donne une touche couleur locale. J'aime aussi la petite potale au-dessus de la porte.

Ja, Leuven heeft een prachtige begijnhof, Roger.
Er wonen tegenwoordig studenmten als ik me goed herinner.
Prachtig gesneden deze foto met die steentjes op de grond en dat mooie metselwerk. De fiets zegt al iets over het huidige gebruik.
Heel mooi.

Ik heb een volledige serie foto's genomen in het Begijnhof te Leuven.
Ik herken onmiddellijk deze plaats, maar de fiets is natuurlijk iets extra.
De oude rmen met de kruismonelen spreken mi geweldig aan.

J'aime beaucoup cette impression de se retrouver dans une peinture des Maîtres Flamands. Le vélo tient le rôle d'un personnage. La composition est très équilibrée et les briques bien rendues.
