Photographer’s Note

The beguinages were constructed in the West North of Europa (Flanders, Nederland).
Lier is a small flemish city locatd a few km of Antwerp.
Here an entry of the beguinage.

The Beguines were women who dedicaded their lives to god withart retiring from the world (13th century).

The beguinages are situated in the cities: Amsterdam, Bruges, Leuven, Lier, Diest, Dixmude, ...
More flemish beguinages are inscrided on the list " World heritage Unesco" .

Les barques et leurs reflets attirent le regard qui suit ensuite le canal pour arriver aux toits du béguinage qui émergent au milieu du cadre végétal.

I have known about beguinague here in TE. The best place to learn and to see beautiful and interesting things in all the world.

Bonsoir Roger,

Les réflexions sur l'eau sont des atouts à la composition. Les arbres cadrent bien le canal ou la rivière. La prise de vue envoie notre regard vers les maisons ce qui donne de la profondeur à la photo. La luminosité donne un bon contraste aux couleurs. Bonne soirée.

Another beguinage! I haven't heard about this one. The red houses look nice, near the canal and beautiful trees. Very peaceful atmosphere.

A good point of view through the framing trees with the two boats making an interesting lead line towards the building. Very good natural colours and fine clarity.

Hello Roger,

I was also in Lier ther on the same place in 2006, also in July.
Than get we a lot rain showers, very well perspective, good with the small boats and lovely background.
Very nice snap shot.
Nice composition, real colour, excellent captured, TFS.
