Photographer’s Note

For many people the word heath brings to mind the image of a vast purple plain, yet it is much more than that. For instance there is the distinction between wet heath, dry heath and purple moor grass vegetation. Heather is the dominant vegetation for dry heath, bell heather for wet heath. The purple moor grass vegetation has always been here, but it grew extensively because of soil enrichment, which made the grass dominant in many areas.
One of the goals of the policy plan for the park is to create a big, open and centrally located heath area with wet and dry heath and minimise the vegetation of purple moor grass in that area. There are different ways to realise that goal. grazing cows, sheep, goats and horses is one way, creating suitable conditions for heath to germinate by cutting sods another. Sods are cut to impoverish the soil by removing plant material through mowing and cutting vegetation and sprouting trees.
here you can find this good note.

my second shot with the canon 350d and yes I get the feeling with the F-stop. I hope you like the shot.
