THis is a picture of Lock number 8 ( Geel Ten Aard )at the canal Bocholt - Herentals it was build as part of what Napoleon Bonaprte wanted to achief with his grand canal du Nord it is 60km long and was build in 3 years, for the moment it is very populair for pleasure boats and yachts, most ships now take the AlbertCanal wich has a bigger capacity and a faster route between Luik (Liege) and Antwerp.
This effect on the picture i got is due the water coming out of the spilgates and a leak between the two doors and of course a long shuttertime.
Thanks for looking and all your comments on previous images.

Funny that we share the subject today. At the first glance that looks like a road. Quite special effect of steadily movng water and long exposure. Different toned lights makes this colourful too. Pictures that surprise me make me smile!

A well thought out experement that has produced fantastic results. To me - the flattening out of the waters of the canal is just worth the absolutely low shutter. How did you get the shining line (like a road divider) all along the centre of the canal ?
The composition is facinating too !
Thanks for sharing Eric.

Very well captured blur flowing water. Long exposure time showed the river at night in a magical way.
Beautiful colors and very good image quality.

Thanks for your explanatory note. Without this it would be difficult to guess content of this photo. I muss admit the waterflow in the chanell is very well captured. Nice work.
