Photographer’s Note
MAS - Museum an de Stroom.
During a two-day business trip I had some time to stroll through the old town and along the river Schelde in Antwerpen. An impressive city with so much nice archtecture. In the gallery I found 511 picture from Antwerpen, but I think it the first of the MAS
"A new museum in Antwerp about the river, the city, the port and the world" says the brochure about this museum. The MAS embodies the genius loci of Hanzestedenplaats. It is taking the place of the Hansa House, which was there until the end of the nineteenth century. This location played an important role in Antwerp’s history in the sixteenth century and the nineteenth century and will be doing so again, as a result of the development of the Eilandje district, which includes the construction of the MAS.
The museum will be opened end of 2009.

Hello Achim,
A good capture of this building still under construction by the looks of it. The rich red tones of the architecture make a nice contrast with the palish blue sky. Some pleasing light and shadow contrasts. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Achim
A striking warm cold colour contrast, between the orange red facade of the 'under construction' musem, & the blue grey sky. Good sharpness & superbly composed. Tfs!

Hi Achim,
The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The boats are framing well the buildings. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the architecture of the museum. The evening light is bringing out the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Hi Achim,
I think there is too little modern architecture on TE. So I’m glad with your beautiful image of this remarkable museum at the border of the Schelde.
I’ll put the place on my list of interesting places to visit.

Hello Achim
Interesting modern architecture and a splendid light which emphasized the warm color tones of the museum.
I've noticed there is a mark(spot) in the sky...maybe a dust in the sensor(?)
Cheers

Hello Achim,
A fine view of the new museum under construction in my home town. Probably not the last photo we will see of thsi building, but your view stands out because of the warm colours against a clear blue sky and the integration of the old ship docks.

The late light really lights up this very attractive building. I also like the way you left plenty of space on the river.
