Photographer’s Note
This is a 2nd photo Noah's Ark by Romainian artist Virgil Scripcariu in Place du Musée, in the courtyard of the palace of Charles of Lorraine in central Brussels. It was part of the Europalia festival two years ago.
Europalia was established in Brussels 40 years ago, in 1969. Eurofalia is a cultural organisation that is organising festivals of art every second year. This year the the event will be dedicated to the culture of China. Two years ago it highlighted the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome that established the European Economic Community (EEC) All 27 Member States were represented. The main event then was Pathways of art in Europe that exhibited European art from the 5th century to the 18th century. Another and more exciting event was Agorafolly or Agorafolie (Agora means square in greek). Agorafolly was the “future” section of the Europalia festival. 27 young artists, one from each Member State, perhaps the great names of tomorrow, had been asked to create a European artwork of the future. Their works were exhibited in squares around Brussels

bello il contrasto tra l'architettura classica e questa versione dell'arca di Noè.
Ottima inquadratura.

I much prefer this image to the previous one. Now I can see the sculpture in its entirety, I wonder why you chopped off the 'legs' of the earlier one. I presume they are oars the ark is resting on. That would be a relevant feature as at the time of the ark I expect that was its means of motion (unless sail I suppose) Definitely a very unusual artwork.

Now the sculpture is seen complete. I agree with Kath, I also prefer this version. Very good capture, excellent colors, light and good details.

Hej Ulf,
A funny combination of old, beautiful architecture and this very modern and rather funny kind of art. Very attractive colours!
