Don't look for any message here, this is just for fun, a little winck as it rained all day here in Brussels...

(Now that I think of it, it could also be an answer to various photos posted recently by Polonaise ;))

They were part of a sort of carnival called the "Brussels Zinneke Parade".

(This photo is far from perfect, the lady on the left was under an umbrella and therefore her face was much darker, I still don't know how to avoid noise in those circumstances).

(Found on the net : "some 2.500 people have taken part in the biannual Brussels Zinneke Parade. A celebration of the capital’s diversity and the fraternity between its different ethnic groups, the colourful show attracted some 50.000 spectators.

The 5th edition of the Zinneke Parade was made up of several smaller neighbourhood parades that melted together into one big parade in the city centre.

Dozens of organisations, neighbourhood committees and individuals worked for months to get their colourful costumes and floats ready for today’s show.

(…) The name Zinneke Parade is derived from local slang. In Brussels dialect a “zinneke” refers to a mongrel. With inhabitants from all parts of the world, the organisers thought there was no name more suitable for their parade".

They all looks nice. But the man on the right - what a gaze !
They make me think of some saying of my youth of university times - "szajba luz" - what in free translation means "a screw in the head is loose" ;)))
...

hi Cath

Very interesting to catch the expression and the faces in this candid way. It looks a little like mime. How far is this world from your travel photos of India...not by distance but by ???

tfs, bill

Hello Catherine.
Interesting division of emotional faces. Smiling, mischievious and stern. Beautiful colors here as well. I also love how their hats are all tilted towards each other, there is a hidden geometry here that makes the photo deceptively simple, yet complicated.
Very good.

Hi Cath,
Very colorfull and funny models and you capture them well.
Thank you.
Cem

Hi Catherine, that guy with the camera has a very villainous face saying "Hahaha, I have you"...A great shot of the event. TFS...Aex

Hello Cath,
Just because the woman's face is darker doesn't make the photo lose its value. I loveeeeeed the frame. I think it is beautiful. Loved all of their expressions, but especially one can easily write a story with the inspiration that he gets from the men's looks.

bonjour Cath
Amicalement
Pascale

Hi Cath... The face of the man on the right is quite scary, I have to say, it could be part of a horror movie or something, but the rest of the photo is kind of fun... Yes, being observed, I think I´m going to answer the photos of polonaise as well)... Take care.
Miguel
PS: Torromow in your city in Brussels, but probably leaving soon to Holland... Take care.

Attractive and lively scene for today,Well rhythmic of color as eye leading, suitable moment of capture the action and suitable title,I also like the way camera man look to you.;-)Good work,TFS.

Hola Catherine:

Bonjour Catherine

Looks a little like a Halloween movie set. I am sure fun was had by all dressing up. Good sharpness & color & nice use of the principle of 3. Merci!

being able to spot something extraordinary - is one thing...
To take the decision, aim, establish the contact, set yourself up to the task and finally - shoot...Is quite another one...

It seems to me that you have those things in your blood, Cathy

Black, yellow and red...
The best colors the photography has ever known... ( and, not a'lot o'people know dat !!!)

full of smileys - g.

..............

These ones look like characters from Jeunet/Caro movie "Delicatessen". Three clowns maybe, but they look more charismatic compared to clowns, maybe like GhostBusters. And they look quite fond of posing for you, this was a nice time together, i guess. I especially like the soft bokeh here, the DOF is obvious but still keeping the whole details inside. Very different shot from you, but still having this joyous face of life inside...
Hugs,
Deniz
