Photographer's Note

The Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert (French) or Koninklijke Sint-Hubertusgalerijen (Dutch) is a glazed shopping arcade in Brussels that preceded other famous 19th-century shopping arcades such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan and The Passage in St Petersburg. Like them it has twin regular façades with distant origins in Vasari's long narrow street-like courtyard of the Uffizi, Florence, with glazed arcaded shopfronts separated by pilasters and two upper floors, all in an Italianate Cinquecento style, under an arched glass-paned roof with a delicate cast-iron framework.

Hello Daniel,

A beautiful interior photograph with strong perspecive and excellent light. The columned archway frames the picture beautifully and the brightly lit distant view is superbly clear and detailed. The throng of shoppers in the foreground adds human interest and there's lots to see in this attractive photograph.

Well composed, lovely light and colours, perfect exposure (in difficult conditions) and excellent details and sharpness.

Hi Daniel. One occasion where the tourist mob is actually contributing to the composition and mood by providing a solidity on the ground level compared to the airy and opulent effects above their heads. What a beautiful Galleria, the perspective and intricate architectural details have been captured exquisitely and you handled the light very skillfully. Excellent light management, the light through the roof always makes shots like this difficult and you overcame that problem easily.

The symmetry, colours and the bold repeats make this shot so appealing and rightly treated. This is particularly descriptive, I love the brightly lit art deco ceiling which renders an excellent contrast to the low light. Presence of people make it happening timely.Great effort and vision. Congrats
