These picture has been taken during a visit to Brussels.
The picture is taken in the centre of Brussels "Coudenberg" an area with fantastic lovely architecture of old houses, with a height differ of 15 meter.
You can see the slope of the street, all the houses are out of the 17th century, a splendid stroll through the city for photographers.
History:
"The hill of the "Coudenberg" formed since the Middle Ages, the residence of the ruling princes and the central administration of the Netherlands. The palace developed over 800 years around the medieval living area by the construction of a large stateroom, the Aula Magna, the ducal chapel and Baliënplein. The history of the former palace, place of intense political and cultural life, coincides with the history of Europe.
In 1731, this palatial residence that led to the most brilliant of his time belonged destroyed by fire. Archaeological excavations have numerous relics brought to light that testify to the life at court during the Bourgondian and Habsburg period. The archaeological site is today a museum .. under the Place Royale. "

Hello John,
An interesting note and a very fine photograph in which the steep slope of the street is readily apparent.
The varied façades of the buildings do contrast and yet complement each other perfectly. I like the red building at far left which adds a fine splash of colour and the circular water feature with little fountains in the centre of this area.
Perfect exposure, lovely soft light and exquisite details and sharpness.
Beautiful!

Hello John,
a very well considered composition that fills the frame with the marvellous architecture accentuating its features, patterns, colours and charm. Elegance is conveyed not only by the architecture but also by the way you've used the slope and the foreground in the frame offering a delightful balance. Sharpness is exquisite, all the details, colours and textures are very well defined. The contrast provided by the blue, orange and red is wonderful. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

Hello John,
You have picked a great POV to present us this very interesting row of buildings with varied architectural facades. The fountain in the FG (which is actually a roundabout) is a nice element in the composition which provides an anchor point and sense of depth. The red facade in the BG and the corner of blue sky that you've captured add a splash of colour and luminosity. Good work !

Dear John,
At the outset, I wish you and Jenny a very happy wedding anniversary. Half-a-century plus one, that is a blissful time together. I had a chance to peruse your new gallery, and will visit it again and again. You continue to be a great ambassador for Belgium, presenting the beauties of the Flanders countryside, as well as the great urban scenes. In this photo of these beautiful buildings, all with unique architectural design, but all with characteristic steep roofs. By selecting a street with a steep grade, you've accentuated that grade by showing the fountain. I like the row of small cars parked on the road.
Warm regards, my friend,

Hoi John,
Erg fijn werk!

Hello John
A clear, sharp, well exposed and composed image - your trademark. Fascinating buildings. The layout and the slight slope put me in mind of Wolverhampton town centre! But if you have ever been to Wolverhampton you would understand the irony in my statement as well as how much of an insult it is to Brussels! Sorry - just my English sense of humour!

Extra high quality photo. The clarity and deep depth of field is perfect. A well presented crop allows eyes to remain fixed on the building facades. Hallo John!
As usual a wonderful combination of picture and comment! All these architectural details one can detect here are so beautiful and one automatically must think of our today's often so soulless architecture. I like this fountain in foreground very much. Modern - but it goes very well with these old houses. A worth visiting place indeed ...
Greetings! I hope ypou are fine.

Hi John !
Uh,ah, I love this one very much, honestly :(
I am a city guy from the first day of my life, to be exact, grew up in an old town. But just in recent years, I have been rediscovering the charm of the city's life, especially the architectural beauty of some buildings. I think the interest fell right onto my heart after a three day stay in Barcelona some years ago.
Very sharp and deep in colour frame, congratulation :)

Ha John
Mooie foto.
TFS,
Groet,
Huub.

What an amazing building, set on an incline with other structures & subjects like the cars seemingly emphasizing the incline part which is indeed the most important theme of this picture. Picture taken with your usual panache...Fine work!

Hi John,
Certainly a well-know place to me. I think you have found an excellent perpective here. Most people would probably just see the Whirling ear sculpture and included the Musical instruments museum. In enjoy your inclusion of the red house to the left that adds some colour to the scene and also how you make use of the curves of the fountain and pavement. TFS and have nice weekend!
Kind regards,
Ulf

Hi John,
How did you get this photo without any people, it's amazing! Great composition, the architecture of these buildings is beautiful...this is very well presented! I really like the strong orange color that stands out from the left of the frame and the blue sky reflection in the windows near the upper right. Image appears sharp in detail and exposed perfectly. Very impressive!
Cheers,
Jason

Hallo John,
is.
huisje link in beeld hebt gebracht.

Vele groeten, Paul
