My new site 180 new pictures

These picture has been taken Saturday during a visit to it Royal Palace to Brussels Belgium.
This palace is free accessible during the summer months.
It was 40 year ago that I yet brought, a visit to this nice castle and extraordinarily interiors.
I want placing a interior picture, taken without tripod or monopod, not allowed.
I hope that you can appreciate this image.

The king does not live in the palace, but in the castle Belvedere
The palace is not the property of the monarch, but it is made available by the State to exercise its function. Formerly the palace actually personal property, but because of the lack of an heir, and the quarrel with his daughters Leopold II gave the palace together with all other goods to the State, the Royal Trust.

In the palace, the various departments of the king and the other members of the royal family established, including the royal household. Also here is the Archives Royal established that some three kilometers archive possession. Anyone can consult the archive for historical research.

Oh, a great shot of my living room ... just joking!
The limitation on tripods does provide problems for keen photographers; having said that, you must have a very steady hand for the details are sharp.
You have used the carpet as an interesting guide, whilst the chadelier is strongly placed in the frame.
The light is well managed, bringing out the reflection in the gold decoration.

This is a beautifully elegant room and you have captured it with lovely colours and a very pleasing composition.

The lines of the carpet, the wood flooring and the beautiful gilded cornices and friezes make for a fine composition and the colours are vibrant yet true. There is a lovely mixture of natural and warm artificial light.

You're capturing well this the interor of Royal Palace by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's so interesting and impressive to see the Royal Family's room. It's also interesting in gold threshold, the wall with soft tone, the chandelier hung from the ceiling and elegant carpet. It seems that the room itself is a region of the condensed art.

A perfect shot in all photography aspects. The use of the wide angle lens creates a very effective volume in the image. The gold cast of artificial lighting brings out the golden mouldings of the room, enhancing the feeling of wealth and prestige it conveys. A great picture, John. Splendid interior shot. Good such shots are usually quite difficult to take. The space for finding a good perspective is often limited and the lighting is usually quite poor. I guess that you had such problems here, but handled them in the very best way. The composition is really great, the sharpness, details and colours are excellent. TFS and have a nice Sunday evening!

Dear John,

What perfect elegance, what exquisite photography. For a hand held interior shot you have achieved remarkable sharpness and light management. A shutter speed of 1/13 second is very slow. For analogue (not for digital) the rule of thumb would have been 1/13 sec is acceptable, if the lens has a focal length of approximately 13 mm (almost a fish-eye); and for 1/60 sec, then you can use a lens of 60 mm focal length. It is easy to convert this formula from analogue to digital lenses.

Dear John,
It nearly seems pointless adding my critique to so many others that you have received. It is a beautiful well-considered well-lit image taken just from the right height and angle to suit the room. I am amazed at what you have achieved at 1/13 sec f7.1. A good balance between depth of field, light and camera movement and at only ISO 200. I would have been tempted to increase the ISO to get a faster shutter and therefore take away the risk of movement.

Very beautiful room. I really like rooms like that. I was some weeks ago ate Petropolis city that was founded during the Brazil imperial time and have many houses with this style, but most of then if forbidden take photos.

What a splendour! It's interesting that you obviously were allowed to take photos there. Here in Germany we photographers again and again have difficulties when taking pictures in such places. Wao ! The depth and clarity of the photograph - with the golden borders of creme frames of the walls - the elegant and styled carpet - the designed floor - is a treat to watch.
The lighting has been very well managed. The light from the chandelier and the lamps on the walls have a glow and shine that is very well captured.

That's a most-superb view of the ballroom captured WITHOUT any overexposure for an allover softness and pleaseantly-matched tones.
Straight side verticals too to complete the enjoyment!Those lights on candelabras were "by then" real candles and when the host didn't appreciate too much the visitors, she asked for the installation of short candles, so people could leave earlier!!
