Photographer’s Note
Victory square in Minsk is a most beautiful sight of the city. Locals call it 'krouglyak', which means 'round in shape'.And round it really is, though oficially it is a square. The obelisk was unveiled in 1954 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Belarus liberation from the Nazis in 1944 during WWII.Its height is 38 metres and it is crowned with
a 3 metres replica of the Victory Order.Words on the roof tops can be translated as 'People's exploits are immortal'
