Photographer’s Note

Just returned from a trip from my dreams... Belarus...
A place where time splits: you find life frozen in time some 40 years ago, and on the other hand - you find a modern, well organized state... A contradiction to what I thought before I arrived to that beautiful country...

Nowogródek is a small, quiet town in the north of the country. In the 19th century Adam Mickiewicz, one of the greatest Polish poets spent many years there...
I can imagine that the place looked pretty much alike it is today, apart from prevailing post-soviet vehicles.
This was a sort of a sentimental journey for me...

Wygląda to jak za czasów AM. Fajnie pociągnięte kontrasty. Zapowiada się ciekawie.

Pustka.
Pomimo ludzkiej obecnosci, czuc tutaj atmosfere wielkiej pustki. Podobaja mi sie kontrasty. Natomiast ciachnelabym kawalek z lewej, bo tam jakies badziwie w krzaczorach sie zaplatalo, kawal drzewa czy cos tam.

wow, this looks like it was shot in the 60s - the pavement, building, truck, whole atmosphere. excellent PP enhancing contrast. believe it or not, it has a nostalgic quality for me (not that I long for those times, but for what those times meant for me..)

Ta uliczka też budzi wspomnienia o peerelowskiej Polsce B czy C. Brak koloru i ostre kontrasty potęgują uczucie zagubienia i wyobcowania. Ludzie są ale do cna anonimowi. Na usta ciśnie się: To se ne wrati - hope so!
