Photographer’s Note

I allowed myself to do a small woorkshop on this photo. This is meant to show that monumentns and old buildings are few and far between in Belarus whilst all the time being surrounded by newer and less appealing, even grey, post-soviet architecture.This has something to do with the troubled history of this nation.
Here we can see Saint Syemon's Church, which is an Orthodox Cathedral, built between 1865-68. Pic taken from Intourist Hotel, one of the most important hotels in the city. View to the West, Poland starts roughly few kilometres from here and is visible in the distance.
