Photographer's Note

This is St Nicholas Orthodox Church located in Brest Fortress. It was built in the second half of the 19th Century by the Russians as a part of the fortress garrison. After Brest reverted to Poland in was turned into St Casimir's Catholic Church. In 1939, when Soviet troops entered the city it was in turn made to serve as an officer's club. During Soviet-German War it was destroyed and not rebuilt until 1991.
It is most probaly the church where biazberdy took his "Confession" photo cause I didn't notice any other one there.
It has been lovingly restored in recent years. If you are interested to see how it looked before the restoration here is the link:http://www.brest.by/ct/albom/photo11e_2.html
