Bad Gastein, Austrian spa town is situated in the middle of the National Park Hohe Tauern, at 1,000 metres above sea at the head of the Gastein valley. Small city of Bad Gastein once was a famous resort, visited by Kings and the rich and famous. Among them the German Emperor “Kaiser Wilhelm”, Tsar of Russia, Bismarck, Chrustschow, Leopold of Belgium, Toscanini, Franz Schubert...
During winter times these days, most of the town is inhabited by skiers. One can enjoy winter sports, summer hiking, and healing water treatments. During the past few years, Bad Gastein renovated its "Felsentherme". The local thermal spring water earned the town its early fame. Paracelsus (1493-1541) studied the Spring water to discover its secrets. Madame Curie helped to discover that it contained radon. In the centre of Bad Gastein there are eighteen thermal springs containing radon. Radioactive water baths, with tighly controlled quantities of exposure, have been used for many years in many places. For example Jachymov (Joachimsthal) in the Czech Republic and in traditional Japanese spa in Misasa. The Gasteiner-Heilstollen radon inhalation therapy began as a result of further investigation into the anecdotal experiences of silver miners who noticed improvements in symptoms from various ailments including arthritis and Bechterev's disease. This style of therapy is also done in Poland and in Montana, United States. Treatment is covered by some Austrian and German health insurance plans. The most famous sight and attraction of Bad Gastein is the waterfall which crosses centre of the town. Waterfall is a breathtaking subject for photography.

i like to know this unique place

Hello Jiri,
Good POV and composition so we can see the waterfall above and under the bridge.
Very beautiful with the three water streams on the foreground.
Nice soft colours.
The house and the people give us an idea of the size of the waterfall.
Regards, Paul

Hi Jiri,

very good captured and note and i have to say that it might be the best part of your original fish eye photo but a bit out of focus. I would fix it somehow and/or and add more contrast.

Sam.
