[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi guys, I´m back again with a new camera!
What you see in this photo is the so-called "geographer´s view" to Linz, or should I say to Urfahr, which is the part of Linz North of the Danube River. I took this photo standing on the hill upon which the castle of Linz is built.
The part North of the Danube is of Granite; it´s Austria´s "oldest" landscape. South of the Danube, there are the Alpine Foothills (in German: Alpenvorland), which were covered by the sea before; however, the Castle Hill is one of the rare areas which is of Granite (despite the fact that it´s situated in the South).
Linz will be Europe´s Capital of Culture in 2009.

Hallo Gisi!
Hier fällt zuerst das wunderschöne Licht auf der Stadt im Vordergrund auf - und dieser schöne lebhafte Himmel. Der Aussichtspunkt könnte nicht besser sein. Linz scheint eine Reise wert zu sein ...

Hi Gisi,
How are you? it seems some time since your last post.
I enjoy the sweep of the river & also the lovely cloudy sky.
A real focal point in your shot would've added extra interest-but this is still an intereting panorama and also the note is very informative.
Congratulations on the new camera, can't wait to see more of your country + travels.

Zuerts einmal Glückwunsch zu Deiner neuen Kamera. Viele meiner Photos sind auch mit einer ganz simplen Kodak (Z 650) gemacht worden. Schneider Optik ist einfach Klasse.
Zu dieser Aufnahme ; tolles Blickwinkel und gute Gestaltung. Sanfte Farben und gutes Licht.
Linz war einst eine meiner Favoriten cor mehreren Jahren (nebst Graz).
Danke schoen und einen schoenen Abend wuensche ich Dir noch
