Winter Wonderland in the City Photo

Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken a few years back on the Donauinsel in Vienna. What I like about this picture is the fact that the landscape looks like a perfect winter wonderland even though the shot was actually taken in a large city (Vienna is home to 1,7 million people).

The Donauinsel is Vienna's largest recreational area with bars and restaurants. It also offers plenty of sports opportunities (rollerblading, cycling, swimming, canoeing etc.). Every year at the end of June the Donauinsel is the venue of Europe's biggest open air festival, the "Donauinselfest". The main purpose of the Donauinsel, however, is to protect Vienna from flooding by the Danube river.

eine schöne Winterimpression. Kaum zu glauben, dass das nur ein paar U-Bahn-Minuten vom Zentrum ist..

Bella immagine in controluce. Di solito vengono più scure ma qua c'è un equilibrio incredibile di colore e luci/ombre.
Sembra proprio presa nella tundra russa, salvo per quel fumaiolo nello sfondo.
Questa è una foto che è difficile da scattare qui da noi!

Kaum zu glauben, dass dieses Foto in Wien gemacht wurde.
Es ist traumhaft und man fühlt sich sofort in die Landschaft eingebunden.
