Photographers Note
Taken in Salzburg...
Just two people from the same family...
Size: cropped
Color: converted
Grains: added
Her gaze: original
Note: photo taken inside a fancy photo store, where families dress like early 20th century bourgeois. See the WS for original version, and also to see outside the store.
Note 2: photo taking was strictly forbidden, i had lots of problems to hide my 400D.

Great, the early 20th century atmosphere on a 21st century photo. The idea is superb and the final result magnificent. Well done.

Few lines of explanation would be extremely helpful to clarify the weird situation...
Who are those people...?
Why the crop is so tight (to hide something ?)
Enigma for me..
Is this your photo...???
You know, brother
The way you've presented that photo - we can suspect anything...!!!

There was already a precedent on TE...

Additional text after seeing both WSs.
Yahoo !!!!
Then...Why NOT the whole thing ?
Why not to crop nicely from that wide stage ?
The other bourgeois' dame...! (:-))))
Whatta face !!!
You know, Deniz... I'm really looking forward to that special next post of yours...
The whole studio scene ...!
With heart fully warmed up

Awe...you let him do it. I mean, you had to go and post the workshop. Never post the reality. Myth is much better than reality...make 'em think, you know, use the mind to devise your own world through visual stimulation. George is always poking around, finding the secrects, noticing the 18th century garb in a digital photograph...all that noseyness...no need for it.
Stick with your plan, good grains...nice slightly sepia tones...candid moment.
I recently poured through a book ith prints made in a style called Fresson printing (er, I think that's the name). Anyhow, it was slightly low contrast, but really grainy and intriquing...There is nice contrast here but it reminds me of that ancient printing process.
Regards,
Chris.

Hi Deno!
Come on man, fantastic double portrait, very atmospheric, it's not only the costumes, the b&w and the grain, but also the expresions. Excellent tight framing and composition. Congratulations!

Merhaba Deniz,
How did you hide your 400D, especially in a photo shop. The woman is look askance at you. Wonderful turn-of-the century image, aged synthetically.
Selam ve saygilar, Deniz.

Hello Deniz,
Tremendous portrait with a very original composition
This photo fits with the beautiful city Salzburg.
You proposed this classic scene that makes an 19th century typical atmosphere.Well done!

Deniz,
when did you go to Salzburg? Last century? And what camera did you use? I don't believe you that it was a digital one. It look more like the old boxes on a huge wooden tripod. The image and the grainy qualituy really provides that feeling of old austrian monarchy nostalgia. It even seems that you got S. Freud personally to pose for you ;-)
The additional shots as WS gives an excellent complement to have the full experience that you went through. What a pity that it was strictly forbidden to get pictures, otherwise the post with the modern equipment and the people in the old dresses could have been elaborated a little more in the composition and made easily an outstanding main post.

Bonjour, cher Deniz,

It is funny because I have the same photo excepted that I'm the models... I had liked the quality of their production and it had exactly been made for this place... If I remember well at the beginning of the road leading to the castel...
I like here your treatment which gives to this composition a timeless touch... I also like the face of the young lady...

Selam Deniz kardeşim,
Bu da befis bir kare. Paris'i fotğraflıyan Eugene Atget'in işlerini anımsattı bana.
Anlatımı ve tekniği müthiş bir siyah beyaz iş.

Hi Rigo!
I like the deep going sociocritical analysis of your photo and its title. :-) You pushed the button them just in the right moment. The girl peering from behind his back directly into the eyes of the beholder gives the kick here. The tight crop looks really good, but I like the original photo as well. Great paparazzi work!

Hello Deniz,
Grain, cropping etc. But there are two main characters here and you have really mastered the cropping. The grain doesn't bother me, because the image has the looks of a picture taken 100 years ago. Perhaps it is the hat also ..The cropping let us see the weird expression of the girl which balances well the guy. I like it and although I don't have the time to write comments these days, I couldn't resist on this one. Now I read that photos were forbidden, so I was right to think about old pictures.
Friendly yours - Izzet

Hi, Deniz.
I am really impressed by this one.
Seems to come from a film !!!
Beautiful expressions and the attitudes of these people are full of meaning : they look at different directions...near by their body, far by their emotions...
I like also old aspect of photography.
Beautiful work, indeed, despite of lick of sharperness.
Congratulations. Grazyna.
