Photographer’s Note
After the roaring success of yesterdays upload, comes a second in my series of two photos about the Vienna underground. An impressive system which seems to work much more effectively than the London underground.

How cool is that?
That RED sign standing out of the gloom, most of the frame in darkness and those mysterious looking people on the platform. Really outstanding POV and judgment here.
a very stylish shot...

Very minimalist picture. I know that some people might not like these kind of pictures. I find yours very fascinating.

good one. I like this dark and the red of the sign. Great mood achieved.

Bravo

Heyyy,
You know I like this one too!
A good Vapour minimalist and graphic shot. It has this sort of cold, quiet and strict side that you get in the station in scandinavia (maybe it's the same thing there in Austria?)
Kinda perv' shot as well. Sort of hidden in the distance, and these legs... ahhhh legs ;-) sorry

Hej Brendan,
Great view down to the platform of the Vienna underground. Very nice to see the waiting people like this with a good inclusion of the red sign in the foreground. Well seen and captured, thanks for sharing!

Hello, Brendan--
"Roaring success"... it's a good thing TE points aren't the highest determination of a photographer's skill. i actually wrote up a pretty lengthy critique to your upload yesterday only to have my computer crash right as i was about to add it. In my anger i didn't feel like searching out the picture or again or like rewriting the critique. The short of it was that i thought it was a decent picture, but it felt a little bit too mechanical for me... i liked the motion blur on the lady climbing up (which i thought was pretty evidently intentional, was kind of surprised to see people who thought that it was on accident)... but it still just didn't seem as visionary as many of your pictures. i don't have anything against the picture itself as much as i just didn't see it as your best work. This one has that feel to it that the other one lacked for me, though. The signs are simpler and easier to comprehend within the scope of the picture, and the lighting adds a great simplicity and mood. The strong angles also serve to make this a dynamic feeling piece. Great work.
Thanks!
sam
P.S. i mentioned on a critique of one of Daniel Barreto's pictures today how some of my pictures are inspired by other pictures that end up looking nothing at all like my new picture, but that had inspired me in some abstract way that i couldn't really put a finger around. One or two of the pictures that will be in the next series that i upload were inspired by some of your pieces in that way--i really do appreciate your work a lot.

Great shot Brendan. That red sign flying over all that blackness is indeed a great element. I like the way it cuts the standing man and the way you framed the remaining two girls. It's a photo with a great visual impact with an intense graphical mood. Really good.
