Grundlsee lies in the geographical middle point of Austria, in Ausseer Land, the center of the "Styrian Salzkammergut" (the lake district within the salt mine area), is approx. 90 kms from Salzburg, 200 kms from Graz and 304 kms from Vienna.
Grundlsee is the perfect location for an active holiday or just relaxing. The village offers three lakes, Grundlsee, Toplitzsee and Kammersee. An unforgettable experience is the "Three Lake Tour": which begins at the West end of Grundlsee, takes you by boat to the small village of "Goessl" at the East end of the lake where you leave the boat and then take a short walk to Toplitzsee. Here you take a ride in a flat bottom boat typical for the area, to the other end of the Toplitzsee, with it's spectacular waterfalls, then after another short walk you arrive at Kammersee, the origin of the river Traun.
The three lakes have drink water quality and offer in both summer and winter many sport activities.
