Anif Water Castle
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is a photograph of Anif Water Castle (Anif Wasserschloss) taken during a recent weekend trip to Salzburg.
The castle is situated in the town of Anif, which is about 5 miles south of Salzburg city centre.
The original castle was built in the 16th Century and was once the seat of the bishops of Chiemsee, but it was remodelled between 1838 and 1848 in neo-Gothic style. It is private property of the family Johannes Moy and not accessible for the public.
If the castle looks familiar to some people it might be because it was featured in the opening scenes of The Sound Of Music, and it also featured towards the end of The Odessa File.
As it is private property there is no public access to the castle and the grounds have walls around them preventing any decent views. This photo had to be taken by holding the camera above the top of the walls and shooting blindly. Unfortunately the sky is a little blown out, but overall I thought the result was very good considering. |

A perfect picture with proper coverage of land, water, trees and the castle. i liked your POV inspite of restrictions mentioned.
historical importance of the castle if any would have made the already useful note to a very good informative one.
