The lords of Güssing (in Hungarian: Németújvár and old name is Köszeg, in Slovak: Kysak) were a noble family in the frontier region of Austria and the Kingdom of Hungary. Note that Köszeg is the name of a nearby Hungarian town (known as Güns in German) to which that family moved its residence from Güssing in 1274. In 1522, it became the residence of the Batthyány family, one of the most distinguished Magnate families in Hungary.
Built on a volcano hill in the midst of the magnificent landscape of southern Burgenland, the romantic fortress Güssing is one of the most beautiful castles of Austria – and rightly so. Established as early as 1157 as a wooden defence fortress, the castle today accommodates an important museum and has something to offer for guests of all age groups. Particularly impressive is the fantastic panorama which one can enjoy from atop of the bell tower.

Hello George,
Lovely point of view!
The castle is nicely shown in its surroundings, telling the story of how the always picked the highest point for the fortifications...
Interesting to see how the village has grown up around the base of the castle hill!
Nicely framed scenery, great details...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello George,
fantastic view of the castle... very good POV. I like especially the composition and good sharpness.
Well done my friend. Best regards,
Andrzej

Nice point of view how the castle throne over the city. A pity for the bad weather conditions.

Hi George, I like the panorama of the city, with the castle in the top of the hill. But I think the colors are a little without life and contrast. I made a WS too you.

Hugs
Andre

Hi George,
A fabulous shot of this castle on the hill. The central composition works well and i like the detail of all the buildings below the hill. Very well done!

Only a short drive away (when I am in Vienna) and I've never been there! More to catch up on. Great work you've done on this view, to get it all in. Very impressive!
Cheers
Otto

marvelous shot with the contrast of red roofs with green vegitation but dear i want to do some workshop on it please see and let me know you liked or not?

A beautifull fortress indeed, up at the top of the hill. Excellent sherpness again, but you sky is a bit grey this time.

All the best,

Emmanuel

Very prominent castle above the hill. Beautiful setting for this picture. The houses surrounding the hill and the lake or rive on the foreground create a unique European scene. Lovely contast of colors and good use of light with good details. Nice work George.

Szia Gyuri!
