Its hard to take a night shot when you are not carrying a tripod. I generally sit my camera on a bench or a ledge and fire aware. Sometimes this means that I have to lie in the gutter to line up the shot... but its worth it!

Hi Antoine, as I was born in Austria, I usually click on TE thumbnails that indicate this country. Sounds like you made quite some effort to get this shot, and the night lights are pretty impressive. I think your shot could benefit from some very easy post-processing that I'd like to suggest to you in an attached workshop, such as correcting the tilted appearance of the buildings, or removing the specks and dirt points that may be a result from scanning.
Also, you might have ended up with a more interesting angle when stepping a little to the right, still facing the "Neuer Markt" hotel but having less of the building at the right in your frame. You might have needed a tripod for that though.
This fountain has an interesting history: it was funded by the citizens of Vienna and therefore didn't carry any imperial symbols. This is why empress Maria Theresia wanted to have it, and its "obscene" figures, destroyed in 1770. Luckily the figures survived and were restored later.
