Photographer’s Note

The gigantic turtles are shoted in Reptilien zoo in Klagenfurt in Austria. On low daily light I set manualy the exposure time on 1/125 sec and I open the lens on f/3,5.

Think some body has been applying olive oil to their shells to keep these tortoises in condition.
Good sharp picture though nice one.

I tend to agree with RobBrown regarding the olive oil ;) But the shiny black shell immediately attracts my attention to this picture.
To my mind pic is a little too close (do not see the turtles in full, takes time to recognise where they stand on)... or too far (no portraits - although turtles are rather weak in mimics)

Great turtles. Polished or not (well, it is a zoo after all...) they look really good with that "shining armor..." and your angle is very good as well. Well captured!

Great, Max! At the thumbnail I tought they were not real turtles. The cask color is beautyfull and so polished! They look like lovers...
Just would like to see them entirelly. How big are them?
I'm out of smilies today, but will be back monday to fix that note! :) :)
