Photographer’s Note

This is another semi-oldie from the pre-digital era :)

This is Michaelerkirche (St. Michael's church).

It is a scanned photo, and I can not say any good words about the quality of its colours and the technical quality of the original negative.

Anyway in PP after scanning I did my very best to adjust the colours (the original shot has a strange pinkish tint) and remove dust & scratch, and noise (+ a slight lens distortion correction).

The photo was taken with a very simple, absolutely automatic no-zoom Samsung camera. And the quality of the film was not the best.

Why have I posted this photo here, then?

Well, I have found quite a few photos of Michaelerkirche (St. Michael's church) on TE, but no photos taken from this POV. So I decided to post it - for a change.

I wish everyone a nice Sunday! :)

=============================================

The Michaelerkirche, dedicated to the Archangel Michael, is one of the oldest churches in Vienna.

Over its long history, spanning more than eight centuries, this church has incorporated a medley of architectonic styles.

The church is a late Romanesque, early Gothic building dating from about 1220-1240. There is a document, stating 1221 as the foundation date of the church, but this is most probably a 14th century forgery.
