Photographer’s Note

Artstetten Castle (German: Schloss Artstetten or Schloß Artstetten) is a castle near the Wachau valley in Lower Austria.

Used as a summer seat by the Austro-Hungarian Habsburg dynasty, the castle houses the resting place of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, as well as the Archduke Franz Ferdinand Museum. It remains today the private property of the Hohenberg Family.

Der urkundlich erstmals im Jahr 1263 erwähnte Bau war bis ins 15. Jahrhundert im Besitz derer von Aerendorf. Nach mehrfachen Besitzerwechseln erwarb 1824 das österreichische Kaiserhaus das Schloss. Unter der Schlosskirche befindet sich die Gruft von Erzherzog Franz Ferdinand und seiner Frau Sophie. Das 1914 in Sarajevo ermordete Thronfolgerpaar hat dort seine letzte Ruhestätte gefunden. Im Schloss selbst ist heute das Erzherzog Franz Ferdinand-Museum untergebracht.

Das ist aber ein hübsches Schlösschen! Du hast auch dieses Gebäude wieder in einem wunderschönen Licht "erwischt". An diesem Foto stimmt einfach alles. Mal sehen, ob jemand etwas zu kritisieren findet ... ;-))

Gutes Standpunkt und gutes Licht. Schoene frische Farben und perfekte Bildaufbau. Die naruerliche Rahmung rechts und links mit dem Laub der Baeumen finde ich gut.

bardzo fajne miejsce.
Ladnie sfotografowane.
Ksztalt tych wiezy jest bardzo wyjatkowy. Przypomina mi troche wieze zamku w Lancucie, lub Nowym Wisniczu.

Witaj Jurek, chociaz taki stary ten zamek, to nie sprawia takiego wrażenia, moze przez te okiennice. Bardzo ładne te okrągłe baszty z kopułami. Dobre kolory, przyjemny kadr, chociaz szkida troche tej lewej wiezy, ze zaslonięta. Bardzo ciekawa notka. Pozdrawiam

Czesc,
fajny duzy format kadru, ladna kompozycja z obramowaniem z drzew a sam zamek swietnie sie prezentuje. Dobre przypomnienie o ksieciu, o ktorym uczono nas jeszcze w szkolach na lekcjach historii. Dopisalo swiatlo, kolory wyszly super.
