Lake Zeinissee Photo

Back to last summer ...

This is lake "Zeinissee" at the frontier between the Austrian federal states Vorarlberg and Tyrol in an altitude of about 1800 metres. The mountain in the background is Schrottenkopf (2890 m).

Nearby in the background there's the Alpine pass "Zeinisjoch" between the aforementioned federal states. It's not one of the big passes crossing the Alps from north to south. It's situated in an altitude of 1842 m and it connects the two valleys Paznaun (Tyrol) and Montafon (Vorarlberg). Some meters west of the pass - left of my point of view - there's an old guesthouse with a long tradition in order to support wayfarers and transports. It first was mentioned in a deed of 1505 but it is evident that already the Romans used this inner alpine pass.

Zeinisjoch also is the water shed between the big European river systems of Rhine and Danube - and there's a very special feature - a bifurcation. It is situated right hand in the background.

sehr schöne Landschaft um Ruhe zu finden und zu wandern. Die Details kommen naturgetreu raus und der See hat eine spezielle Farbe die mir gefällt. Na ja, nächste Woche soll ja der Frühling richtig zurück sein...

Bonjour Frank ,
J'adore les lacs de montagne , et celui ci est superbe , par sa couleur et son environnement verdoyant . Je pense qu'il aurait fallu placer horizontalement la berge au fond , comme on le fait pour les horizons marins . Cela évite à la photo d'avoir un air penché .

Hello Frank,
I see that already all we sicken this winter. The present winter was really severe and long. Still gives about himself to know every now and again. However I would like already comings of the spring. Such prospects how in this picture increase only my thirst of the sun. I want the blue sky, the spring sun and spring temperatures... I know, that this photo reminds the last year′s summer. But is wonderful and worth of such remembrances.

Beautiful, what more can I say. Many years ago we walked from Partenen up to Kops Stausee, but not as far as this... I remember the bifurcation photo well, indeed a very interesting picture!

Une belle variation entre le vert de ces versants et celui du lac et l'ensemble dans une atmosphère très pure,il n'y a pas de voile voile ce qui donne de très belles couleurs.

Je viens saluer mon Ami pour l'avoir "négligé" ces derniers temps. Je suis très occupé depuis que je suis retraité, ce que tu savais déjà ;o)
Belle image estivale qui manque un peu de chaleur peut-être ? Ta verte image au bon piqué exprime bien la fraicheur à cette altitude en dépit d'un beau ciel bleu.
Je te souhaite un excellent weekend depuis Calvi où la pluie est annoncée pour ces deux jours.

ces lacs autirchiens que nous pouvons atteindre en randonnant sont un plaisir des yeux de par la couleur de leur eaux, l'environnement de montagnes et là en été des couleurs d'une nature encore épanouissante

You have fantastic colors here. I really like it, it creates an amazing atmosphere like in a shot from tropics.
The plants in the foreground enrich the composition as well.

dieses Bild erzeugt in mir eine Vorfreude auf den nächsten Sommer und auf die Bergwanderungen auch wenn's heuer noch eine Weile dauern wird bis wir solche Landschaften zu sehen bekommen werden... Besonders gefallen mir in diesem Bild die glasklare Luft, die gestochene Schärfe und die schönen Farbtöne.

Un coin de nature qui me séduit beaucoup,
d'ailleurs depuis quelques années, je suis litéralement fou de montagne mais dans la saison d'été.
La couleur caractéristique du lac est séduisante, le point phare de la photo.
