Ischgl is a ski resort in the in the Paznaun Valley in Tyrol. Austria. It a rather small village with a population of about 1500 people. It is situated at height of 1377 meters. Above the village there is the Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun that is connected with the ski resort of Samnaun across the border in Switzerland. It is one of the largest skiing areas in the Alps. The lift system of the Silvretta Arena has a total of transport capacity of 78,900 people per hour. The system has 3 gondolas, 2 aerial ropeways (80 + 180 passengers), 23 chair lifts, 11 surface lifts. The three gondolas all start in the village of Ischl. Two of them, Fimbababahn and Silvrettabahn, take the passenger to Idalp at height of 2 320 meters. This photo is taken close to Idalp.

Iím used to the traffic jam every morning on the Dutch roads, but I never heard of a gondola jam, but you convinced me with this funny and artistic impression.

Yes summer is finish and soon winter. A very astonishing view with these lift without only one skier. a beautiful prospect and a good use of light in a landascape of snow.
