Tranquility, a photo from Tyrol, West

Photographer's Note

I'm sorry, wanted to change something and I accidentally
deleted my photo (this one). My apologies
for some people that I have not responded back

This is the Pielersee, lays in Tyrol, nearby
the border of the province Salzburg. One
half of the lake is for the (Water) Birds,
the other for tourism. Everytime when we
go on holliday in Lofer, we visit this lake
first, it's a nice and easy start after
10-12 hours driving.

I shoot deliberately the wooden pier
sidewards, because otherwise the background was
to dark. I didn't use a polarization filter,
because I wanted to creates a "milky way" effect
to make the picture extra calmness.

Hi

It is wonderful. I like the use of wooden platform. I'd suggest if the frame is shifted bit upward, cropping the near leg of the wooden platform, would be a better composition.

There's a feel of tranquility and yet another dream like feel to this great calming quality shot enhanced by immense depth and perspective. A competently framed, exposed and all appear to be in sharp focus, superb coloring and contrast embraced dramaticalyy by the heavy sky. Another good quality shot, Congrats.

non sei presente tutti i giorni, ma quando decidi di mettere in reta qualche foto lo fgai a ragion veduta con bellissimi scatti come questo ricchi di fascino per la perfezione della composizione e per la cura con la quale operi sulla parte tecnica con luminosità, contrasto e saturazione sempre perfetti.

This is a stunning picture , very well composed , with the diagonal of the wooden pier , and the moutains in the BG . I like especially the oontrast between the milky aspect of the water and the dark grey sky .

I love the mood you have captured here. In particular I note what you say in your note about the inclusion of the jetty and your wish to make use of the turbidity of the water and create a milky effect and enforce the sense of tranquility. A masterly photo-job! TFS and have a nice weekend!

Hi Robert,

I'd say you achieved your goal, this definitely has a feeling of calmness! What strikes me the most is the pristine reflection on the water, for a somewhat grey and murky lake you've made it look fantastic...even managing to squeeze every possible reflective point, right to the bottom of the frame, amazingly detailed. The reddish color of the wooden deck against that dark blue sky is a smashing combination. Thanks for sharing this visit to the lake.

Hi Robert,

Please take that comment as a very positive one, but I can feel the progression in your work, although your standards have always been high.

It has something to do with the clarity, the definition, the exposure, the depth of the tones and a sense of the light like being there. It's just so beautiful, and at the same time, it's more than ever closer to the truth.

This composition is simple and majestic at the same time. We can feel the serenity, the silence, the idea of being alone and in contact with nature.

The motion in the clouds adds a fairy tale quality to your shot.

I am very much impressed with this photo. The composition is brilliant. I like the curve made by mountains on the horizon and how it id reflected in the lake. The pier is perfectly fit to complement this reflection in water. I like the amazing clarity here which even allows us to get a feeling of how unclear the water of the lake is, having this milky consistence with a green touch.
Excellent work, you have really done something out of nothing here. One can learn so much from your photos so much.

Hi again,

Only you can turn a not so good weather and yet makes a beautiful photo out of it. The landscape is beautiful and prinstine, but the photo quality make it even more beautiful than it really is, the reflection adds to the depth. I like the deck, I can imagine myself standing there.

The title says it all, Robert.
I like most the colors differentials between foreground red/brown and far side grey blue. The effect of long shutter, gave the water a silky texture (typical in your stuff).
