A spectacular fiery sunset, with good grpahism & silhouettes. Good sharpness & well composed with superb pp work on the sky. The tower at left makes a good focal point. Merci, bon Dimanche, et amaicalement.

sometimes it's suitable to go for photo-hunting when the rest of the world is standing in front of a TV for a football match

This is quite an unusual sunset scene, as we mostly see sunsets either on the coast or in rural areas. This is almost a night shot with the city illuminated but the gorgeous colours still remaining after the sun went down. Good POV from above and good framing with the tower as the main focal point on the 'magic' spot.

Hello Jean-Yves,

Un ciel qui valait largement le déplacement ! Ses couleurs s'allient parfaitement aux éclairages publiques de la ville. Un papagolfade qui se cache dans une partie de l'image et qui est écrasé par la beauté du ciel.

Bonjour Jean-Yves,
Un ciel de toute beauté!
Depuis ce point de vue, cela n'aurait pas changé grand chose que les gens soient dans la rue et non devant leur petit écran... si ce n'est que tu devais avoir la paix pour choisir LE lieu où t'installer.
Tu participes même à la tradition de la papagolfade du dimanche, avec ce beau clocher bien éclairé qui se détache sur le ciel.

Red on fire and moving clouds by 30 sec are exquisitely impressive. The belfry of Pfarrkirche Mülln illuminated brings a nice visual impact to this fine image.

As far as I can remember the weather was quite variable those days too, giving good changes for such impressive skies. Beautiful one, of course emptyness of streets is not obvious from this angle.

Not sure what this has to do with football, unless you think nature is taking sides. But that's OK; it's a spectacular photo, with great light handling - perfect mix of darkening yet fiery sky with the buildings starting to glow in the "blue hour" light. And the long exposure makes excellent saturation. Nice!

Hi JY, long time no speak, I've been on holidays. What a welcoming! Thyis is no ordinary sunset shot. I love the effect of the 30sec exposure, particularly on the clouds but also on the town to the left. The image is beautifully sharp and the colours perfectly rendered. You have some lovely shots of late, this one grabbed my attention. Beautiful sky and although I am sure you were waiting for that blue these were too good a show. Skyline is impressive although not too much is shown. The exposures are top notch here.
