Photographer’s Note

After a lot of architectural photos it's time to upload a landscape, I think, especially when it brings the promise of springtime. Thanks to the play of clouds the entire lake is covered by shadow while the slopes are bathing in the light of the late afternoon sun.

Lake Zeller or Zeller See (click on map left) is a small freshwater lake in the Austrian Alps. It takes its name from the resort of Zell am See which is located on a small delta protruding into the lake. The lake is 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) long and 1.5 kilometres (1 mile) wide. It is up to 69 metres deep and at an elevation of 750 metres above sea level.

This beautiful view from the other side of the lake. The landscape of this country is always a pleasure to its snowy mountains and green meadows.

Ciao caro Laszlo,
bel paesaggio, perfettamente nitido e catturato con buona tecnica fotografica. Grazie al lampione inserito in primo piano l'immagine ha acquistato una bellissima profondità di campo fino all'orizzonte. L'acqua sembra in rilievo. Molto bella e suggestiva, mi piace!

Tja, wenn man die Zeit so weit vor stellen könnte...
Ein wirklich einladendes Foto, das vor allem vom Kontrast zwischen dunkler Seeoberfläche und den sonnenbeschienenen Hängen im Hintergrund lebt. Ein wunderschöner Anblick - und diese Lampe erzeugt nicht nur Tiefe, sie ist auch noch ein schöner Blickfang. Ein Foto, das irgendwie die Stimmung hebt ... ;-)

Hier muß ein ziemlicher heftiger Wind gewesen sein, der das Wasser zu solchen Wellen veranlaßt. Das ergigt einen schönen Effekt mit den Schatten der Wellenberge. Und die Lampe - ein Eyecatcher - sie scheint im Wasser zu stehen.
Sehr schöne Komposition

really nice this landscape view that combine green hills and snowy Mts in the foreground.I like the lamppost that is found in the lake? and it is an eye catcher of the scene.Spring is coming!

belle photo de ce superbe lac avec ce village étendu sur l' autre rive.
Cet environnement montagneux est magnifique et cette neige sur ces sommets estbelle et avec ces lampadères a l' avant donne une très bonne profondeur a votre photo.

Hi Laszlo,

Marvellous DOF even though the lighting were not perfect. You were a bit lucky that the landscape in the background was sunlit otherwise it would not have worked. I think the picture is very interesting from a photographic point of view. This particular lighting is something to remember and make use of in other similar situations. TFS and have a nice evening!

tu as fait une originale combinaison des motifs dans deux plans et comme tu dis, apres une promenade architecturale, tu regales nos ames dans la nature. Ton souvenir de voyage qui dure presque une annee est bien ravive par ce post que je trouve genereux et dont je te remercie.

A simple subject of the lamp post but used well. It is a perfect frame and well placed in the composition. Beautiful mountainous scenery in the background.
