Photographer’s Note
This shot was taken from the bank of the Salzach river showing one of the pedestrian bridges shortly before sunset. The spotlighted fortress on the hill top is Hohensalzburg Fortress, built in 1077 by Archbishop Gebhard, considerably enlarged by Archbishop Leonhard von Keutschach (1495-1519), largest, fully-preserved fortress in central Europe. The medieval princes' apartments and the Fortress Museum are of particular interest. Since 1892 the fortress can easily be reached by funicular railway departing from the Festungsgasse.

Hello Asa,
I like Salzburg, this town fascinated me a lot when I saw it for the first time in my life, and I hope to return there once again... it was like a fairy-tale.
it's such a nice photo! I like the rich colours, the warm colour gamma, the sunlit buildings... and the whole perspective view!
I remember walking along this bridge, visiting the Cathedral... and taking photos (unfortunately they are not good enough to be posted on TE).
Concerning the composition of this shot, I may be wrong but I would crop a bit of the bottom...
best regards,
Elena

Hi Asa,
This is a fabulous view I remember well and from which you have a nice overview of the fortress and some churches domes spreading at its feet. The partial light put the emphasizes on the buildings, occasioning a darker foreground.
Good overall control of your exposure, as every information and piqué are there. I would have tried a tighter cropping, abandoning the building to the left and concentrate more on the bridge with the historic buildings in the back, as it is your big feature, but it appears too small. I would have keep the sky, as it looks good, and would have chopped a large part of the river in front and would have avoid the railing in the right side.
The inclusion of the tree on the right to frame the scene is welcomed.
Cheers!

Hi Asa,
A good view of the old town of Salzburg and its dominating castle. I like the perspective which makes good use of the curve in the river at this point.

Hello Asa:
Perhaps the clouds are not the best, but the scenery is wonderful. An image with a great compositional power, from a proper point of view, with good lighting and soft tones. Harmonic frame, too.

The falling light gives a lovely softness and richness to the colors, Asa. This lends charm to this carefully framed and elegant cityscape. Regards Kevin

Hi Asa,
Oh this reminds me I should also show some Salzbug images I have... What I like here is that the light falls on the most important buildings and they so stand out very well by contrast against darker surroundings, maybe I'd crop a bit at the bottom to get more panoramic.
Have a nice day jY

Hello Asa,
Austria, Salzburg this is a excellent combination, Austria one of the most beautiful countries for photographers.
You play very well with light and shadows, nice presentation with the bridge over the river, and the city in background.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello Asa,
an excellent POV (though without the bridge it would be even better - unfortunately building and removing bridges are beyond our power), now also the nature was helpful to you with nice lights and for background optimal clouds. Tadeusz has already made the slight modification I would also have done, otherwise a really good photo.
Best whishes

Hi Asa,
The central motive here of churches, castle and bridge is definitely very attractive! But maybe I would have preferred a tighter cropping to exclude the modern buildings to the left from the picture. But otherwise a very pleasant view!

Hello Asa,
Une très jolie lumière sur ce clocher et les batiments. Un peut dommage que l'arrière plan ne soit pas très net.
Le pov est bien choisi et les couleurs sont douces.
Excellente soirée,

Hi Asa,
A very well chosen POV and excellent timing with the lighting. I am really impressed that practically every building is sunlit while most of the rest is shaded. Also really great natural colours and a very well-composed picture. TFS and have a nice evening!

Hi Asa,
The PoV and light make it very beautiful. The walls golden shine against the grey sky is great. It's a very attractive image.
The only thing less great is the sharpness, which isn't bad but could be improved.
Regards, José.

Hi Asa
Interesting selective spotlights on the hill and the church.
I think that is possible to take another picture from the bridge to complete the subject with a closer view on the hill.
Best regards.

Asa,
A very lovely city, along the river with this wonderful casttle high up on the hill. I have been up there to see the sun set and watch the city light, as the chuch bell rang. This is wonderful composition, with lovely warm light, with all the famous landmarks in one frame and the river lead us to them. Excellent work as always. Thank
Way
