Photographer’s Note
Along this axis in Salzburg, three of the city's top attractions:
In the foreground, and left side, the Mirabell gardens and castle. The castle was built in the 17th century by Prince-archbishop Wolf Dietrich as a residence for his mistress, Salome Alt.
Then you can see the green domes of the Dom, the city's cathedral, in early baroque style, designed by the Italian architect Santino Solari and consecrated in 1628.
Then, on top of the hill back there, about 120 meters on top of the city, the "Hohensalzburg", the stronghold of the princes, begun in 1077, and frequently enlarged, remodeled and reinforced until the 15th century.
The famous "Do-Re-Mi" song scene in the legendary film "The Sound of Music" was shot at the gardens seen in the shot.

Hi Daniel,
I know this beautiful place, and your good POV with a classic setting offers us an excellent graphism thanks to the good geometry of the palace and of its magnificent gardens full of life and of color.
A great quality of image and a great perspective in this nice composition.
Best regards,
Josep

i just wonder if there is any chance to photograph a boring place like salzburg in a fancy way...
i'm affraid that the only option we have is the classical postcardish approach...

Hi Daniel,
The diagonal lines made by the paths are assets to the composition. the presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view takes our eyes toward the cathedral in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The picture is clear and precise. The quality of the light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.
Pierre
