Photographer’s Note

Woerthersee (lake Woerth): hard to believe that this place is 3,5 km from the city center of Carinthia´s capital, 500m from the football stadium and 200m from a new congress hotel. I took the photo from the terrace of a restaurant.

Klagenfurt is a green city, but the situation in the east bay is fragile: more and more of these natural places get destroyed by a shortsighted city planning without concept. New idea: to build a indoor swimming pool 100m away from the place shown.

Peaceful, charming and inspiring shot. I like the frame you selected for this fine photo. Love the little cabin in the mist.I am not sure if what I see in the distance is a person or a dog. Lovely photo Chris ;)

I like the focus on the first branch, this little house, the nice light, the reflections of the trees in the water and of course this fog. You're quite in the mood for landscapes in the mist, these last days !

Hallo Christian! Total huesch wie der Ast reinlugt und der feine Nebel ueber dem See mit dem zwarten Fruehlingsgruen im Hintergrund mit den leichten Spiegelungen, zart wie die Blaetter. Was schreibst Du denn hier, ich habe das Gleiche gestern auf einem Flug nach Yverdon-les-Bain erlebt. Mein Lieblingsdorf im Anflug mit einer wunderschoenen Wiese hat seit neustem eine Golfplatz, dort wo Wiesen bluehten. Diese leeren langweiligen Sandloecher ueberall, dort kommt bestimmt nichts mehr, keine Biene sitzt dort ab. Und ich bin der Meinung, dass mit der Krise gerade solche Ideen Raum und Zuspruch finden. Ich rege mich auch gerade wieder auf, aber eigentlich sollte ich doch Dein Bild geniessen, ein wunderbares Bild. Manchmal denke ich, man sollte auch die Gegenseite zeigen, aber ich mag so nicht richtig :))) Happy evening, bei einem Glas Wein vielleicht ... Barbara.

Hallo Christian,

Who wants to disturb such a quiet en peaceful place? Indoor swimming...yeah sure, why not put a roof above this lake?
Anyway, you show natures beauty in a very beautiful setting with the fog over the lake and a nice reflection inside. Love the little hut, bathing in light, great focal point.
A very peaceful setting, hard to believe that they even want to build so close to this lake...

Anche l'Austria ha qualche problema di urban planning? Non ci posso credere! L'ecologista, tradizionalista Austria? Mah. il mondo sta proprio cambiando.

Between light and fog... a superb composition!
How can they imagine to destroy such a peaceful landscape by building a swimming pool there??? It is amazing.
You should send your photo to these persons and ask them why to destroy this;-)

How not thinking about the "nymphéas" of Monet by seeing these colors which melt in the water and in the mist which rises from the lake.
I like the break of colors brought by the small house and the gold-coloured rushes.
