Photographer’s Note

Hochosterwitz Castle,situated on a rock fan high above the plane below, the castle is not only a landmark of Carinthia but also one of the most imposing medieval castles in Austria due to its topographical location and its kind of structure. Moreover it can be regarded as the model of a medieval castle. A specific feature is the access way to the castle passing through a total of 14 gates, which are particularly prominent owing to the castle's situation in the landscape. The castle mountain has been lived on since the Bronze Age. since 1571,the castle has been in the hands of the same family, in 1586 it received today's shape and appearance. Hochosterwitz is also a historic document of Protestant rule in Carinthia, which lasted till the Counter-Reformation.

wonderful landscape.
good capture of the castle on the rock with the beautiful sky for bg.
nice composition of layers.
I did some ws with the backlight. hope you like it too.

nette Ansicht dieses Schlosses...das hatte ich nachtsueber gesehen, als ich nach Kaerten im 2001 fuhr.

Yes, Melinda,
not everything has to be at 1/3... this time you chose the classical triangle-composition, like Raffaello Santi did it with most of his Madonna-paintings. Castle-house- and oak tree build up a very stable and at the same time dynamic triangle.
Good one ! Also nice that you enclosed some grass in the foreground to add depth.
Compliments, oh ich hätte ja auch in Deutsch schreiben können :)

Meseillusztacionak sem utolso a kep! Nagyon tiszta, mint egy tulzottan aprolekos rajz, nagyon szepszinu es minden van rajta, ami kell: zold mezo, odvastorzyu oreg fa, takaros udvarhaz, sziklas hegy, romantikus varkastely es baranyfelhos kek eg. Es az aranysarga fenyek meg adnak egy irrealisztikus mazat.
Szoval tokeletes!

Nice capture of an attractive castle illuminated by the sunlight in the late afternoon. The halo around the castle works effectively to stand out it. the cloud at the left has been rendered with a nice three-dimensional impression.
