Photographer’s Note

On top of Dobratsch mountain, 2.166m high, you find this little church. The guys there got drunk with some bottles of wine, and how they moved and walked around close to the edge of the cliff, they were lucky not to end up 1.500m lower. The way back was dangerous for them, too.

The black bird (a jackdaw, corvus monedula) flew into the corner of the pic by chance. Nearly a symbol for a close death.

Perfekte Kompo mit dem Vogel in der oberen Ecke,tolles timing!!!
Das Bild hat eine toll e Tiefe und mir gefällt der Kontrast zwischen dem Sonnigen Vordergrund und und den "blauen Bergen" im Hintergrund.Einfach nur schön!

Hi Christian.
You always show us incredible mountain views,from the world summit,like this one..The jackdaw break a little the panoramic view,but it also give a different touch,all above to those incautious who seem that they have forgotten that the route finish when you're down the mountain...

Hello Christian,
This shot is clear, fresh and clean - like the air at 2.166m! the jackdaw is a superb addition, adding balance and extra excitement to the composition. I would prefer to remain sober in such a wonderful landscape - I would want to remember it later!

This is a well composed photo. The black bird adds a nice touch to the photo. The mountains form a terrific backdrop for the shot adding nice depth to the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

very nice shot. I love the top of the moutain view. Very nice depth with all the mountains in the BG. Very nice sharpness and colour contrast in the FG. The bird really add a nice plus to the image

what a moment you push the shutter bottom !
a great capture and a well composed shot.
The bird is an extra element here that is suddenly appeard here and the view is full of details with a nice controlling of the light,nicely done,like it.

Hi Christian,
You were really lucky with the bird entering the frame at just the right moment and I like that he is placed in the corner of the composition. The view is magnificent with the layer upon layer of snowy mountain, and it is amazing that they built the church so close to the edge. The two drunk people give a good sense of scale and it seems that luck was on their side too not to fall off.

Even without the bird the view is already breathtaking. sitting there must be a delightful feeling, superb view. But the bird gives something extra, something we call luck, because that's what it is.

suggestiva immagine, compreso il bel WS, di questa piccola chiesa costruita in un posto quasi irraggiungibile. Anche se casuale, il corvo impreziosisce la scena e la rende più interessante. Per me è un segno di vita e non di morte, indipendentemente da chi vuole suicidarsi in montagna ubriacandosi. Peggio per loro.
Veramente una bella immagine, come sempre nel tuo stile. bravo.

The inclusion of the black bird is perfect. It is hard to understand how people can be so unconscious of the danger.

The symbolism of the view with the bird and the story is dark but the image is of a really light mood, with great mountain light, of course you were really lucky with the bird as it's in the right place in the frame to fill the corner and to balance everything else.

Undoubtedly that is a beautiful composition, full of brightness, naturalness and a large depth of field.

The landscape is stunning, with the contrasting tones but striking white, and the bird in flight, rightly energizes the scene.
