Photographer’s Note

In this one you see nearly the half of my homeland, the Austrian federal state of Carinthia. I took this winter panorama in the morning, after having spent a cold night on mountain top :D
Please see also my previous posts.
I used a grad ND filter to shoot against the strong sun.

Incredible bright high alpine winter scene. Effect of direct sunlight is striking. Wonderful to see snowy field turning almost seamlessly to sea of clouds. A pity for those down on the valley...

great shot. the sun looks great, and the clouds and the snow blend perfectly to make a extend ground. Very nice exposure and sharpness.
Is that a house atop of the mountain?

Hi Christian,
I am really speechless in front of this photo. The low anle light partially on clouds and partially on the snow works really well. Also the flare is far from annoying and on the other hand "gently underlines" the sun. Impressive. Dario.

Du machst es schwierig zu entscheiden, welches nun das Beste ist, aber ich nehme einfach das letzte, somit bleib ich "unparteiisch" (hat das zwei i) oder so. Was mir hier gefaellt ist der Abhang als Vordergrund und natuerlich das schier endlos Nebelmeer, vielleicht etwas weniger im Fluss als die anderen dafuer aber hat man das Gefuehl dabei zu stehen. Du hast da oben uebernachtet? Nun ja, das ist nun definitiv nicht jedermanns Sache. Wir wollen mehr darueber wissen :) nicht jeder ist so crazy. Barbara.

avventuroso controluce...rischioso, ma il risultato è molto buono. Queste nuvole e questi colori che accompagnano queste cime creano una stupenda immagine, complimentoni!

What a won-der-ful wide view! The snow, the wideness, the clouds, the sun. Wow. Very very nice.
You are climbing or hiking to such a location?
And you stay in a tent or in a cabin?
Just wondering if I'd ever be able to get there. And stay there over night ;-).

ho l'impressione che le tue spettacolari foto da "re delle nuvole" stiano lasciando tutti con il fiato sospeso. Quest'ultima è stupenda, come le altre, l'effetto stella dato dal sole dà il tocco finale alla tua eccellente creatività. Magica luce e colori. Bravissimo.

Hallo Christian!
Und wieder ein schönes Nebelbild. Schöner Bildaufbau mit schönen Farben. Die Sonne hat zwar dem Bild den Namen gegeben, ist aber aus meiner Sicht der einzige Schwachpunkt. Viel zu grob und unrund. Vielleicht hast du nicht den passenden Filter oder einen falschen Blickwinkel erwischt. Sonst kann ich nur allen beipflichten, dass wir in einem wunderbaren Land leben!

a nice compositin, the pov above the clouds is stunning, the effect on the sun sice, except the flay which I would have cloned.

Hi Christian, this is a marvelous one, i love the long view this one offer and for sure the see of clouds just broken by some peaks ... Against sun that brings something more, the star created at F11 is really interesting and brings mood in here.
