A corner of a nice modern art museum (MUMOK) in Wien Museum Quarter.

Info from website http://www.mqw.at

Museum of modern Art Ludwig Foundation

The slender stone body of the MUMOK, with its curved roof, seems to have just emerged from the deep. It has two subterranean levels and three levels above ground that are connected on the inside by a contiguous room with 41-meter high ceilings. From the outside, the building looks like a dark, closed block. The curved roof swoops down at the corners. The façade and the roof surfaces are made of anthracite-gray basalt lava and convey a monolithic appearance.

The entrance level is in the center of the building's height. Two main exhibition levels are above it and two below it. Another lower level is used for storage and utilities.

In terms of architectural design, the museum facilities are characterized by generous minimalism. They are equipped with a sophisticated and flexible artificial lighting system.
The upper exhibition hall receives natural light through a large opening in the curved ceiling. The other slit-like openings and the panorama window on the uppermost floor give visitors a view to the outside and help provide a sense of orientation.

The following materials were used in the MUMOK:

Basalt lava - for the façade, roof, walls, and floors in the hall;
Cast iron - for the footbridges, steps, and wall paneling in the access core of the hall;
Glass - for railings and barriers;
Terrazzo - for the floors in the exhibition halls and all other public areas.

Hello Gorgio, buen contraste del gris de la piedra contra el cielo azul. Muy bonita. Saludos, Pilar.

Hi Giorgio, I like this picture very much! Well exposed and very geometrical!

that's a "modern" pyramidal architectural art!!
the cloudless sky give the subject the standout!
