Visions of sachertorte
and people saying grussgott
the barok and roccocco
of the mind
Yes, all that is true. But with plenty of world class art on show, fine hotels and some great traditional coffee houses, Vienna makes a great destination for a city trip. It is a peculiar place, because - let's face it - the city is just way too big for that small leftover country in the Alps. Vienna is a place where you feel the weight of history gone berserk.
A most interesting place to visit over the new year period.
This picture is a rather classical postcard view from the gardens of the Belvedere Palace towards the Stefansdom church.
Happy new year to everyone at TE.

hi benny. so did i have a new year's eve in vienna, but in 2010 :) having already seen its springtime, i was expecting some snow, i only had chilling cold, though. visiting belvedere, you must have enjoyed klimt and schiele. you found a nice vantage point to take stephansdom as your anchor point. i like the soft glow to it, grüss got, wien looks like a sparkling magic city. all he best in 2014!

J'aime beaucoup cette perspective sur la belle ville de Vienne. La ville s'étale derrière cette statue dans un petit flou agréable à l'oeil.

Hello Benny, very nice image here. I like the close-up on the statue but the background is very interesting also. I guess it was taken during evening by the color of the sky. A difficult time of the day but you managed well. Good take.

this is great idea to place the sculpture against the cityscape. The background is really interesting and definietely adds to the whole image. The light has been managed very well. I like that the picture has propoer depth and nice classic composition.

You're capturing well this attactive city by a good composition, a good focus and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see buildings with settled atmosphere, the tall church with the spire and statue in symbiotic relationship with animal. The whole is harmonized well by a good arrangement and beautiful color combination.

What a beautiful and original capture this! The sculpture looks quite special due to the amazing old architecture which built a fantastic background. Well seen, framed and composed. TFS!
