Photographer’s Note

As you can tell in the photo, it was a snowy day so not great for the light. The castle is really beautiful as you're passing along on the Danube. It's located not to far north of Linz.

The fortress was first mentioned in 1148 making it one of the oldest mentioned places in Austria.

In the 16th century it was rebuilt and became a castle. It is privately owned and not open to the public.

The court is divided into 2 terraces. North is a large park and during WWII, it served as a refugee camp.
