Photographer’s Note

Mondsee is an Austrian town in the Vöcklabruck district in Upper Austria located on the shore of the lake Mondsee. The length from north to south is 9.5 km, and width from east to west is 7.7 km. It features a church used for the site of the wedding in The Sound of Music.

Ładne miasteczko, zadbane kolorowe domy,fajna ta malowana krowa, tylko czemu na ulicy zywej duszy? Przydałby sie czasem jakiś element ludzki, tok to te miasteczka są martwe. Ładne kolory.

Georg,
You had much better weather on your trip to Mondsee than I did, we had clouds and rain the whole day. Your composition is fine using the street to lead the eye through the shot. The lighting is great placing one side of the street in sun and the other in shadow. The architecture is very nice and you have presented it nicely.

Malgosia miala racje, ze jakos pusto na tej uroczej uliczce. Gdyby nie to ze to W Austrii, mozna by pomyslec, ze "siesta" :-) Chyba sama bym chciala, tak bez tego tloku ludzi, luzno i spokojnie bez stresowo :-)

des couleurs bien chaudes grace au choix judicieux du moement de la prise de vue. On voit fort le post processing, notamment au niveau du ciel un peu irrégulier.

Ce village bénéficie d'un charme certain avec ces façades peintes d'une bien jolie façon.
Un temps révolu où chaque propriétaire essayait de valoriser sa maison d'une façon originale.

I like the sweeping curve of the fg road & the linear perspective it adds. I would gaussian blur the sky to mask the grain. Good colour & sharpness. Tfs!

Hallo Georg,
It's a very charming street and not even the damn cars are able to spoil the view, as they look nicely arranged spatially. You did a clever choice of the POV, the compo is very pleasing and makes a good use of the curve, inviting the eye to stroll on the street. The sun helps the pretty painted façade on the right to stand out. The light is so well managed that we almost forget how difficult it is to cope with that mix of sun and shadows. The only thing less great is the sky, white on the left and with a slight purple cast and greyish appearance. However, that's just a little detail that doesn't do much harm and looks hardly avoidable anyway.
