The flower of Andorra, a photo from Ordino, North

Photographer's Note

I have returned to my dear Andorra during a short stay of two days, and could have enjoyed another splendid excursion for some of its mountain ways paths.
The way begins in the entry to Sorteny's valley, and descends following the course of the river, in a wild tour between trees and surrounded with water throughout.
From Sorteny we come up to the village of Llorts, in Ordino's Parish, in a walk of 3 hours.
The landscape was magnificent, splashed of wild flowers of nice colours, and all the tones of green were visible in the vegetation and the forests, since it has rained during every May.
One of these flowers, which I had not been lucky to see till now, is the Grandalla, very delicate and ephemeral, that is that today I show you in this photo, since it is the most representative flower of Andorra, and that scarcely relies on six delicate petals. With an elongated stem and to the centre a yellow wreath, the grandalla, or narcissus of mountain, also called narcissus of the poets, abounds in the hillsides of the Andorran landscapes. Each of its six petals has been identified by the original six parishes of the country. The sensitivity with which it survives this floral species surprises, specially if it is considered to be the hardness that reflects the mountainous landscape.

He vuelto a mi querida Andorra durante una corta estancia de dos días, y he podido disfrutar de otra espléndida excursión por unos de sus caminos de montaña.
El camino se inicia en la entrada al valle de Sorteny, y desciende siguiendo el curso del río, en un recorrido salvaje entre árboles y rodeados de agua por todas partes.
Desde Sorteny llegamos hasta el pueblo de Llorts, en la Parroquia de Ordino, en un paseo de 3 horas.
El paisaje estaba magnífico, salpicado de flores silvestres de bonitos colores, y todos los tonos de verde eran visibles en la vegetación y los bosques, ya que ha llovido durante todo el mes de Mayo.
Una de estas flores, que no había tenido la suerte de ver hasta ahora, es la Grandalla, muy delicada y efímera, que es la que hoy os muestro en esta foto, ya que es la flor más representativa de Andorra, y que apenas cuenta con seis delicados pétalos. Con un tallo alargado y al centro una corona amarilla, la grandalla, o narciso de montaña, también llamada narciso de los poetas, abunda en las laderas de los paisajes andorranos. Cada uno de sus seis pétalos se ha identificado con las originales seis parroquias del país. La delicadeza con que sobrevive esta especie floral sorprende, especialmente si se considera la dureza que refleja el paisaje montañoso.

Es algo inusual observar fotos de parte tuya de este estilo, pero sin duda, destaca como siempre la calidad de tus tomas.

Un gran acercamiento, con mucha naturalidad en los colores y un perfecto encuadre. Los contraste son singulares frente al verde fondo desenfocado y la nota es muy interesante: "narciso de los poetas"...

Un macro esplèndit per la Grandalla (m'ha agradat el nom de narcís dels poetes, sens dubte la seva bellesa aporta bona inspiració...)
L'imatge té uns colors fantàstics i ens apropa molt bé, amb la teva nota, a Andorra i la natura que l'envolta.
La definició de l'imatge està molt ben aconseguida, amb molta força ja que transmet molta vida.

Quite a different post from you. A fine macro shot of the Grandalla, in fact all the three shots are excellent! Like the WS#1 a lot because of the droplets of water on the petals. But overall quality wise this is definitely the best shot, with very good use of shallow DOF! Nice work my friend!

Una magnifica macro-foto de la preciosa flor, la verdad es que parece una orquídea silvestre con unos magníficos colores y muy buenos detalles, tus dos WS me gustaron mucho también. Bueno ya estoy de regreso de unas maravillosas tres semanas visitando California y Las Vegas, ahora lo que tengo es un cumulo de trabajo atrasado así que poco a poco me iré poniendo al día con los amigos.

Hola Josep, all three are very beautiful photographs with diferent moods of the same flower. This is the best one, though. Its perfect shape with all the six petals visible and beautifully iluminated make it a wonderful vision. Great exposure and lovely textures on the petals. Congrats.

Te puse entre mis favoritos fotografos, porque me gusta mucho tu galeria y creo que puedo aprender mucho de tus fotos y como son tantas ir viendolas poco a poco jaja que son muchas y todas me gustan todas, este primer plano de la flor es precioso como has captando la flor con esas luces y sombras y esos contraste de colores, es sencilla, pero muy bonita, una vez más foto de 10!.

Hola Josep.
Bella,bella y cien veces bella esta composicion, las flores son mi debilidad en los macros, esta tiene un colorido y una luz que permite ver las texturas incluso de los petalos, el desenfoque del fondo con dominantes verdes resalta aun mas el blanco de la flor.
Que suerte que te dejaran mostrarnos tan buena captura, yo tengo una buena coleccion de flores pero despues del experimento en que puse dos rosas y me las eliminaron ya no intento una nueva experiencia.
Un gran fallo de TE es que no puedes comunicarte con ellos y darles las quejas ante normas tan ambiguas, unas veces ves flores por la galeria y otras no esta permitido.
En este caso hemos podido disfrutarla.
