Photographer’s Note
Two days ago it felt like Spring. These crocuses were wide open to the sun and the warmth. Today winter has returned with 10 cm of snow and -10°C temperatures.
The intrepid flowers huddle together for warmth and have closed themselves tight. Brave plants to pop from the ground in February.

Luscious image, the purple of the petals and the richness of the skin really come through.

Beautiful spring ladies displaying their silky garments. It is amazing how these crucuses can spring to life so fast and without the slightest fear of the lingering winter.Well done.

Excellent composition Peter! I like the use of DOF here, and the fact that in this instance, NeatImage hasn't take away too much of the detail. Looks like this could belong on the cover of a book! Nice one.

Wow, what an amazing color. I like the way they burst out ofthe snow. The snow is well captured. I'd like some more brightness on the flowers, but well done.

First spring :). The major reason for why i love these flowers are that they are the first once to blossom. They just can't wait to show off there sparkling colours. The way the light falls on them makes them look like they are made of silk. Great capture Peter.

My father always planted crocuses - this is an excellent shot - and they do "feel" frozen as well.

what a story--both text and image :) notable also how the rich color contrasts with the ice.
