[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
As the sun hits the accumulated two metres of snow on the mountains, the melting water flows down to the rivers and the normally quiet meandering streams become rushing torrents of water.

When I awake in the morning, I can hear the rush of the Arinsal river and know that Spring is coming soon.

Frame added. Reduced to TE size. Sometimes cutting back to 200K makes no difference, but in this case, with so many details in the water, the larger image was so much more alive. Still, I want to share it.

I like the high contrast here, very vibrant and powerful atmosphere. Thanks for sharing Peter!

I've had the same problem with many photos, compression kills them. Try reducing to a slightly smaller size. When I suspect that compression will give me trouble I go down to 600 pixels or so, I think it's well worth the compromise.

Great shot anyway, it still looks really good and the water looks very alive, I'm getting thirsty. I agree with Edwin that the high contrast creates a vibrant atmosphere.
