Photographer's Note

If you have been following my other pictures of locks, don't be fooled by the "fresh" stain on the wood into thinking this is a new house. These doors belong to the Casa Areny-Plandolit, a house dating from the early 1600s. It has now been turned into a very interesting museum showing both the old architecture and the daily life of a wealthy Andorran family.

There is information on the web about this house in English, Français, Deutsche, Castillano, and Catalan (the language of Andorra).

The deep shadows that are seen here are typical of the light at high altitude. Shadows are naturally darker than at sea level as there is less air to disperse the light. So you will see the harsh light on many of my photos. As that is what the eye sees, I prefer to leave it that way.
