Photographer’s Note

En mi país hemos empezado el nuevo año con mucho frío y nieve. Entonces he decidido presentar hoy esta foto que tomé en el primer día de otoño, en una pequeña terraza situada en la acera de la Avenida Meritxell de Andorra la Vella.

Mi esposa y yo nos sentamos bajo una de estas sombrillas para tomar un aperitivo, cuando las sombras de un árbol me llamaron la atención, y tomé esta foto porque me pareció muy sencilla pero muy interesante gráficamente.

En WS otra toma con un ángulo más abierto para poder ver mejor este lugar.

In my country we have begun the new year with a cold and snowy weather. Then I have decided to present today this photo that I took in the first autumn’s day, in a small terrace placed in the sidewalk of the Avenue Meritxell in Andorra la Vella.

My wife and I sit down under one of these parasols to take an appetizer, when the shades of a tree were called me the attention, and I took this photo because it seemed to me to be very simple but very interesting graphically.

In WS another capture with a wider angle to be able to see better this place.

Estimado Josep,
Estoy de acuerdo contigo, esta toma tiene un grafismo excelente.
Pero lo que no me gusta es la estructura de la apertura de la sombrilla (quizà la hubiera preferido si hubiera sido de madera).
Entonces, así que a mí también me gusta el juego de sombra y de luz, me parece que hubiera intentado un plan aun más cerca, eliminando los elementos inútiles.
La luz era agradable y esta foto nos recuerda las dulces temperaturas del otoño. Gracias mi amigo.

Bonsoir, mon ami Josep,
Eh oui ! le beau temps, le soleil qui chauffe, tout cela s'est en allé avec la venue de l'hiver qui sévit sur l'Europe en ce moment. D'un autre côté, il faut apprécier le retour des saisons. En région parisienne, la neige est très rare et dès qu'il tombe quelques flocons, les routes sont bloquées.
Une bien jolie image d'un moment de repos (merci pour l'autre image présentée en atelier).
Beaucoup de bonheur, de douceur et de sérénité pour la Nouvelle Année, ainsi que la réalisation des projets les plus chers !

Un pla més obert, millor trobo, com el WS que crea un efecte xul.lo del parasol. Aquí li falta una mica això, trobo.

Thanks for this warm image, which allows us to forget the very cold temperatures for a moment ;o)
The framing is really effective, and the play between light and shadow is interesting.
A pleasant picture recalling holiday, farniente, heat, and laziness... Hummmm !

Sim, gosto e admiro o teu bom olho para o pormenor. Dá um ar de frescura a um TE especialmente virado para a paisagem.

C'est une photo bien agréable à regarder ces temps-ci. J'aime le graphisme et la douce lumière diffusée par ce parasol. Il y a des moments où il faut savoir apprécier le temps qui passe et les joies simples.

This is a wonderful display of shadow patterns. I also like the graphic detail from the mechanism of the umbrella shown in such sharp and clear detail. The WS image is also attractive with good use of perspective to lead the eye from one umbrella to the next.

Hola Josep,
Supongo que estareis sorprendidos con la nieve que ha caído por ahí, por estos lares estamos ya más acostumbrados y también hace más frío del habitual.
Una composición original y muy bien realizada, me gustan mucho las sombras de las hojas reflejadas en la sombrilla.

Your wife must be very loving and patient woman to let you shoot while still having food. You are right about the graphic impression of the steel framing to the shade. Someone has put an effort to design and build the frame and the canvas on top is to give a shelter, which we will need from time to time in times of trouble.

:) please finish you food before you snap the nest shot. Better still, include your wife in the composition if she does not mind.

Hola Josep, very nice creative capture. The graphism of the parasol together with the light and shadow makes a very pleasing image. The WS is also interesting giving some sense of perspective as well, but I prefer this close approach and softer tones because of the more abstract result. I would even consider to crop a bit at the bottom to tighten even more the composition.

Una sencilla fotografía con una excelente definicion y marco, muy buen juego de luz y sombra.
En estos momentos estoy viendo la televisión de España, TVE y tenéis una tremenda nevada sobre todo en Madrid y el norte de la península. Espero que ustedes estén tranquilitos en su apartamento hasta que esto pase.

To tell the truth I like better the ws version here. This is also nice with graphic elements (I would have cropped from the bottom), but the other is more colourful and creative I think..

Since I love colors, I like the WS's addition of flowers very much. Of course the leaf detail is much stronger in this crop.

Les petits retours vers l'automne ne sont pas désagréables, car c'est vraiment une belle saison. C'est une belle composition artistique qui suggère le calme et la tranquillité. Les couleurs douces et sobres sont superbes.

A very different post from you...good graphical representation sitting below the parasol, with the attraction being the shadow of the tree on the right. I might have cropped a part of the lower part to concentrate the view a bit further. A good original work my friend.

This is caled 'to have an eye':) Find anything and show it in an interesting way. You succeeded in 100%. Construction of this parasol (in Polish it is same name;) and the shadows create a nice composition.
