Photographer’s Note

Esta foto está tomada por la tarde, mientras esperaba el anochecer para poder captar esta iglesia de Sant Cristòfol, en el pueblo de Anyós, en el Principado de Andorra, a la hora azul, en unas fotos que ya he presentado antes.

Esta vista nos permite apreciar la sencilla belleza de esta arquitectura, bajo una fuerte luz baja y directa sobre sus viejas piedras.

Con este punto de vista intenté dar perspectiva de la pequeña iglesia hacia el cielo azul, y en consecuencia, no he corregido la ligera distorsión de verticales que crea esa fuga de líneas natural.

El WS es otra toma con una vista más hacia la derecha, donde se ve el ábside románico y la puerta del cementerio.

El pueblo donde está situada esta pequeña iglesia es Anyós, y gracias a la explicación de nuestro amigo Marton, ahora sé que anyós en húngaro significa “Suegra”.

This photo is taken in the evening, while I was waiting for the dusk to be able to catch this Sant Cristòfol's church, in the village of Anyós, in the Principality of Andorra, at the blue hour, in a few photos that already I have presented before.

This sight allows us to estimate the simple beauty of this architecture, under a strong low and direct light on its old stones.

With this point of view I tried to give perspective of the small church towards the blue sky, and in consequence, I have not corrected the slight distortion of vertical that creates this natural fugue of lines.

The WS is another capture with one more sight towards the right, where one sees the Romanesque apse and the door of the cemetery.

The village where this small church is placed is Anyós, and thanks to the explanation of our friend Marton, now I know that anyós in Hungarian means "Mother-in-law".

Hallo Josep!
What a building, what a strong building! It nearly looks like a fortification and this view upward emphasizes this impression. The colour's contrast between the sky and the brownish stones is amazing - and beautiful here. The light couldn't be better ... a wonderful photo!

This is a very nice late afternoon shot. You have managed to use the low angle lighting to create excellent colors and warmth through out the scene. The low POV works well here making the church seem to tower above all it's surroundings.

I can hardly believe that you took this photo in the evening, the lights seem to me as strong as at noon, but you - as always - controlled it perfectly. Despite the side light, the walls of the small church are clearly visible and the deep blue also remained in the sky. Great POV and composition with the tree!

Hola Josep, superb capture of this sunday papagolfade located in 'mother-in-law', lol. The angle is very well chosen and due to its proximity of course I agree with the non correction of perspective. I especially like the detail of the stairs at left with the sight of the mountains in the background. The exposure is perfect showing wonderful textures. The WS is also a great shot that could easily be chosen for a main post - love the detail of the cross at right.

Bonjour Josep,

Cette légère contre plongée donne un aspect plus impressionnant à cette muraille de pierres. Ces couleurs tranchent bien avec le bleu du ciel qui me semble un peu bizarre sur la gauche de la photo.

Ici aussi le point de vue choisi met bien en valeur cette belle petite église. Les détails des pierres sont bien captés et ton cadrage suggère parfaitement le relief montagneux dans lequel cette église est construite. Beau et bon travail photo.

Hola amigo Josep.
Cuando leí el titulo me preocupe ya que pensé que le había pasado algo a la madre de Pili, bueno después del susto te diré que encuentro tu foto de la iglesia muy buena, los detalles de sus paredes de piedra están muy buenos igual que la iluminacion, tu WS igual de magnifico.
Hemos estado viendo en la TV Española la cantidad de tormentas de lluvia, inundaciones y ahora nevadas fuertes donde hacían 38 años no nevaba para esta epoca, Rosa y yo esperamos que ustedes se encuentren bien.

Tanto esta toma, como la del WS son encantadoras. La luz de día, y en una suave intensidad, permite detallar la composición empedrada de la fachada.

Los tonos son muy agradables, y el encuadre esta bien equilibrado. De igual forma la nota es curiosa y entretenida.

Bonjour, mon bon ami Josep,
Très simple et très belle église édifiée en pierre de pays. L'édifice se détache élégamment sur les montagnes environnantes.
Merci également pour l'image présentée en bonus.
Le clocher est très intéressant au point de vue architectural, je me pose une question à propos de ce triangle en acier reposant sur le petit toit (usage : neige ?)

Otra buena captura de esta iglesia que aunque es de día, la hora también fue buena para lograr una buena luz y colores. Me gusta mucho el pequeño árbol en un lado y la perspectiva de las montañas en otro. Bonito trabajo.

I notice the rough construction of the stone walls, telling the story of the hundreds of years passed since the origin!
The point of view is effective in adding dynamics, great colour palette and a wonderful feeling of depth...

Es la misma iglesia que ya hemos vistos en tomas nocturnas? Noche o dia, es una iglesia muy impresionante, me gusta la composicion sencilla pero adecuada, la iluminacion, y me encantan las texturas de esos paredes de piedra! Felicidades!
