Beginning of the way Photo

Photographer’s Note

After a couple of days in Andorra, where I have taken some photos, today I initiate a small series on a very special place. It is the “Camí Real” (Royal Way), which joins the parishes of Andorra la Vella and La Massana, and that has its beginning in the bridge that today I show you.
It is the Bridge of Sant Antoni, of Romanesque origin, re-done to half of the XXth Century, placed next to the chapel of “Sant Antoni de la Grella”.
The photo is taken from downstream from the bridge, and one can see the Royal Way that goes parallel to the river Valira del Nord, and that later goes on to another shore, and is descending softly from La Massana towards Andorra la Vella, where it changes its name and turns into the way of the “Rec del Solà”. It is a magnificent walk in a natural environment.

Después de un par de días en Andorra, donde he tomado algunas fotos, hoy inicio una pequeña serie sobre un lugar muy especial. Es el Camino Real, que une las parroquias de Andorra la Vella y la Massana, y que tiene su inicio en el puente que hoy os muestro.
Es el Puente de Sant Antoni, de origen románico, rehecho a mitad del S. XX, situado al lado de la capilla de Sant Antoni de la Grella.
La foto está tomada desde aguas abajo del puente, y se puede ver el Camino Real que va paralelo al río Valira del Nord, y que después pasa a la otra orilla, y va descendiendo suavemente desde La Massana hasta Andorra la Vella, donde cambia su nombre y se convierte en el camino del Rec del Solà. Es un magnífico paseo en un entorno natural.

Hello Josep,

This is very tightly cropped but it works very well! Everything leads the eye to the bridge which, with its shadow, creates a very interesting 'hole' through which to look!

Your pov is very clever as you make the arch of the bridge meet the the 'v' of the valley.

Hi Josep - nice to see you continue to present these pretty spots of Andorra. This is a cute, intimate bridge caught efficiently from your POV. The vertical format creates an attractive V shape with the slopes of the hill, that contains a great blue sky. The running waters of the river add the dynamics. belle photo de ce petit pont de pierre qui est de toute beauté devant ce v formé par les deux montagnes qui sont a l' arrière plan.
Ce torren qui coule en dessous me rappelle le bruit et la beauté de cette eau rapide des torrents.
Jolies couleurs et bonne netteté de l' ensemble.

É uma paisagem maravilhosa que naturalmente convida ao passeio. Não me importanva nada de passar o dia por lá, mas na primaver/verão como nos mostras aqui, com céu azul e uma temperatura amena. Está muito bonita em PDV e cores esta tua foto.

Hi Josep. First I had an optical illusion to find all in one. Great indeed. The bridge, the current of water underneath, the sloping hills with the beautiful colur of the sky above with small streaks of white clouds made a perfect blending. Wonderful. Regards.

Ce pont en dos d'âne a du caractère. J'aime les lignes de cet ouvrage qui ne sortent pas d'un ordinateur mais de l'intelligence et de la sensibilité humaine. La restauration a été bien menée. Le torrent dynamise la photo.

Benvolgut Josep,
has realitzat un POV genial i molt ben vist, el pont romànic de St. Antoni sorgint d'entre les muntanyes que formen una "V" fantàstica i que centra l'escena.
El riu baixant amb força i passant sota el pont dóna un dinamisme excel.lent i la perpsepctiva arquitectònica ens permet valorar l'estat del pont.
Molt bons colors i qualitat de l'imatge. Molt bon record Josep ;-)

Walking with your camera takes you to places to photograph not everyone gets to see. This is an excellent shot of the pretty bridge with the fence and the path leading the eye as easily as it did your feet. ;D. Both the fast water in the river and the V of the landscape are strong features of the scene. Well done

Hola Josep.
La verdad es que me encanta que andes con tu cámara por estos bellos lugares, nos has presentado fotos muy interesantes de Andorra que yo creo que por lo menos deben de darte un puesto en el ayuntamiento o departamento de turismo, a uno le dan deseos de ir a visitar tan precioso lugar. Esta foto es estupenda tomada en un formato vertical y con un marco excelente, la verdad que es un hermoso lugar y tu nos presentas esta joya de puente y el correr de las aguas del rió en un ambiente de montaña, tu WS es bueno pero esta me gusta mas.
Siento mucho lo que le sucedió hoy al conjunto de Barcelona,,bueno siempre hay otra oportunidad.

Good shot of this old stonebridge.I like your POV and the composition with the wooden balustrade at the right and the diagonal of the montan at the left side.Good amanagement of the strong light and I like too the little waves at the river.Together with the balustrade they give a good depth to the image.

Esplendida captura con lindos contrastes e colores. El água ha sido muy bien mostrada, y las texturas de las piedras de esa pequeña puente está maravillosa. Me gustó mucho el punto de vista elejido de las montañas que forman una grande "ube", pues se ha quedado muy harmonico con los demás elementos de la toma. Puede parecer repetitivo pero ès lo que penso, y un dia tendrè que visitar esta zona de España ya que tiene much belleza, bellas pequeñas villas e toda esta naturaleza increible.
Esta foto sólo no tiene la pequeña villa de resto podemos ver todo lo que he dicho antes.
Me gusta la forma como el rio passa velozmente por abajo de la puente de piedra y crea profundidad en la foto.
Mw gusta tambien el 'V' echo por las montañas y tambien el contraste de colores de la foto.

Un très grand bravo pour cette formidable composition: l'arche du pont est presue en symétrie avec la ligne de rencontre des montagnes et du ciel. J'aime beaucoup aussi ces couleurs douces encore près de celles de l'hiver. Une grande photo!

J'aime beaucoup également le cadrage horizontal de ce magnifique paysage. Voilà un très joli petit pont qui s'intègre parfaitement dans l'environnement. C'est très agréable à regarder. Les couleurs et la lumière sont très belles et j'aime beaucoup ce chemin sur la droite qui donne une bonne profondeur à l'image. Une endroit bien charmant, merci Josep.

Esta serie es esplendida, tanto por la forma como invita a visitar ese pequeño país, como por la belleza de los que muestra, y, claro, por la maestría delas fotos. Aunque me parece que esta se destaca un poco de las otras por su impacto, cualquiera una de las otras (WS's incluidos) quedaran también muy logradas en todo.

je ne sais as si cette image vaut 100 points,**mais en tous cas,le cadrage portrait fonctionne bien, et c'est toujours un plaisier que de voir ces ponts anciens (en Corse, on a de superbes ponts datant des 12 a 17 eme siecle issus de la domination genoise)..

Otro bello lugar de este lindo paseo por Andorra. Me gusta este puente situado entre montañas en ese lugar donde aún no ha llegado la primavera. Supongo que con los árboles florecidos el paisaje se tornará más bello aún.

No se porque habia pasado por alto observar esta maravillosa toma.

El puente es muy atrayente en su estructura, el encuadre logrado es muy armonico y equilibrado, y la iluminacion recrean un ambiente agradable.

Me gustan las tonalidades, y los detalles observados en cada plano. Ha de ser muy placentero darse un paseo por ahi y disfrutar de la naturaleza y del ruido del riachuelo.

hehe, you remind me of when I'm in holidays, Josep. I usually take a vertical and an horizontal version of most of my pictures, and decide which one is the best at home ;-) This vertical composition is nicer because the blue sky contributes much for the beauty of the scenery. Again, I feel that this must be a wonderful path. I like the texture of the river flow and the lines of the handrail and bridge.

Un puente y ese agua realmente precioso, me gusta porque se ve la fuerza que lleva ese arroyo, el equilibrio de la foto optima con esos colores, y esa profundidad, una foto que invita a escuchar el sonido del agua que corre muy relajante!
