Photographer’s Note

Vuelvo a Andorra, y hoy empiezo una pequeña serie sobre casas, chimeneas y tejados de montaña en este país. Mi amigo Emile comentó en una de mis fotos anteriores que le gustaría ver con más detalle un tejado de pizarra que aparecía en ella. Por esta razón le dedico esta pequeña serie a él. La foto que presento hoy es un plano cerrado de un conjunto de casas de montaña, llamado “Les Bordes d’Arinsal”, de construcción moderna, pero que sigue los criterios arquitectónicos tradicionales, con materiales como la piedra, la madera y la pizarra. Me gustó el gran grafismo de estos tejados, la torre y las chimeneas.

El WORKSHOP 1 es un detalle del cartel que hay a la entrada de este complejo.

El WORKSHOP 2 es otra vista general de este complejo, que está edificado en las dos orillas del río Arinsal, con un puente que une las dos zonas.

Back to Andorra, and today I begin a small series on houses, chimneys and roofs of mountain in this country. My friend Emile commented in one of my previous photos that he would like to see with more detail a roof of slate that was appearing in her. For this reason I dedicate this small series to him. The photo that I present today is a closed plane of a set of houses of mountain, called "Les Bordes d'Arinsal", of modern construction, but that respects the architectural traditional criteria, with materials as the stone, the wood and the slate. I liked the great graphism of these roofs, the tower and the chimneys.

The WORKSHOP 1 is a detail of the sign that exists at the entry of this complex.

The WORKSHOP 2 is another general sight of this complex, which is built in both shores of the Arinsal River, with a bridge that joins both zones.

Nice architectural photo Josep. I don't blame your friend for wanting a better look at the detail in the roof. I like the patterns of the slate. The quality of the image is great. Nice framing.

Comienzo de serie... ¿Quedan más chimeneas? Bueno, es sólo broma, aunque con ella llamo la atención sobre lo primero que me ha llamado la atención: su número. Ya se sabe que hace frío pero me iamgino estas casas con una chimenea en cada habitación... Bueno, más allá de ello, crean un efecto muy dinámico en estos bellos tejados. Junto con la torre de la derecha, tiene un efecto gráfico realmente interesante. Muy buena definición, muy equilibrada (tanto las fachadas como los árboles están perfectos). Una bella foto,

De verdad que me has hecho sentir muy bien con la dedicatoria de tu serie, me siento muy orgulloso que venga de una persona como tu a quien he podido a traves de tus comentarios, criticas y fotografias evaluar tus altos conceptos morales, familiares y de amistad que tienes. Que conste y esto para mi es muy importante, que no lo digo por la dedicatoria sino de todo corazon. Gracias.
Tu foto me complace mucho por la vista mas amplia de los tejados de pizarra y las 22 chimeneas que pude contar. Muy buenos colores, definicion y POV. La composicion esta excelente.

Hola Josep, good idea for the series. This first one is a great composition. Love the repetition of all those chimneys and the charming tower well placed at right. The greenery of the background is beautiful and makes a nice contrast. Realy good shot!

C'est une belle façon de nous montrer des toits en ardoise, avec cette composition qui joue sur les intersection des diagonales des toits et des verticales des cheminées. Le cadrage est lui aussi original et intéressant.

Me gusta esta foto ya que parece que, por el POV que usaste, las chimeneas estuvieran a nivel del piso. Excelente composición con el entorno natural y el aspecto de las casas.

Slate roofs are very common in different places of my country. I see that roofs there are also covered with this material.
